The popular battle royale game ‘Fortnite’ is teaming up once again with ‘Marvel’ to bring gamers a comic mini-series this June.

Fortnite continues to surprise us with its creative collaborations. Marvel has been teaming up with Fortnite since the release of 'Avengers: Endgame', and has shown no signs up of stopping. The major comic book company is now implementing its own series into the game titled 'Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War'.

When to expect the Fortnitex Marvel Crossover

The five-part mini-series is set to release at the beginning of June 2022. Epic Games' Chief Creative Officer, Donald Mustard is working with Marvel writer Christos Gage to bring players a new story which will take place on the Island.

Fortnite's 'Marvel Season' that premiered back in 2020 was extremely successful. This was an entire season centered around an interdimensional battle taking place on the island. It was a huge success for both Marvel and Fortnite.

What Marvel characters will we see?

In the past, Fortnite has implemented multiple different Marvel characters within the game. Fans can expect characters such as Wolverine, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Shuri to join the fight on the island. Whether or not these are going to be new cosmetics, or ones already currently available, is unknown.

Players can also expect the five issues to be released in-store with physical copies. Players that get their hands on these copies will be able to unlock a limited-time code for an unknown Fortnite x Marvel cosmetic.

“At its heart, the series is an adventure story, with characters from both universes coming together to go on a treasure hunt into the deepest, darkest depths of the Marvel Universe", said Alanna Smith, Marvel Comics editor.

Still, whether or not this is entailing an entire season focused around Marvel as we have seen in the past is unclear.

What's next?

This leaves us with the question, "What will Fortnite and Marvel do next?". It comes as no surprise that the two major companies continue to work together. It is only a matter of time until we see another collaboration ensue between the two.
