Among Us teases huge collaboration with popular indie games

Among Us teased a future huge collaboration with popular indie games such as Undertale, A Hat in Time, Untitled Goose Game, and Celeste.

Innersloth, the indie studio that developed the worldwide sensation Among Us, has released a quick and simple teaser that left the indie game community buzzing. It is apparently assembling the superstars of the indie game scene in a future collaboration.

The announcement was posted on Among Us' official X page. It includes an image with six divisions around the red crewmate, each with silhouettes of the possible indie games they are collaborating with.

It is quite common for indie games to be featured in more popular games. Among Us has previously worked with Fortnite and Fall Guys where Epic Games released cosmetic items designed after the Among Us' crewmate characters in the game. There are also instances of collaborations where cosmetics are imported into Among Us, like their collaborations with Riot Game's Arcane, Halo, and Destiny 2.

This time, the indie game collaborations will seemingly be the biggest project yet for Among Us. Although Innersloth has yet to release any information on the partnerships, people are starting to theorize about the nature of collaboration. It might be cosmetic items only, however, there is a demand for new modes or tasks that are related to the indie games themselves.

What indie games will we see in the Among Us collaboration?

Innersloth has not confirmed any indie games to be involved with the collaborations. The only thing it revealed was the cryptic image filled with silhouettes of characters. The online community has started to make its own theories on who is who and some theories sound solid.

The games mentioned include Undertale, Alien Hominoid, Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, Celeste, A Hat in Time, Untitled Goose Game, and Crypt of the Necro Dancer.

Undertale

The top left corner has the Undertale community excited. It is a role-playing video game created by American indie developer, Toby Fox. The story follows a child who has fallen under the surface of the Earth to a place called the Underground. The player has to complete objectives and fight monsters in order to progress through the story.

The image seemingly depicts the two skeleton brothers, Papyrus and Sans. The cyan silhouette seems to be the powerful leader of Asgore's Royal Guard, Undyne. Meanwhile, the small silhouette looks to be the introverted ghost, Napstablook.

The Behemoth games

The left section seems to portray the characters from games created by the indie developer The Behemoth. The yellow silhouette looks convincing enough to be the character from Alien Hominid. The side-scrolling shooter game has players playing as the titular hominid, who has to fight against waves of secret agents. The game was originally developed as a Flash game for the game site Newgrounds and was developed as The Behemoth's first console game.

The Behemoth's second game, Castle Crashers is also a possible cameo in this indie game collaboration with Among Us. The pink silhouette looks to be one of the four knights. In the game, their characters are in charge of rescuing the princesses kidnapped by a dark wizard. The hack-and-slash game also features characters such as Animal Orbs which are creatures found throughout the game that provide bonuses and enhancements. One of the Animal Orbs called Rammy is theorized to be a small pink silhouette.

The blue silhouette in the background seems to be Hatty Harrington. He is the deuterogonist in The Behemoth's third game, BattleBlock Theatre. The game follows a prisoner stuck on a seemingly abandoned island as they try to escape by going through deadly puzzle levels.

Celeste

The bottom-left section has characters that people believe to be from the Maddy Makes Games' Celeste. The 2D platform game follows Madeline, a young woman with anxiety and depression who aims to climb Celeste Mountain. The silhouette is most probably Madeline herself meanwhile the silhouette behind her seems to be Badeline, the personification of her self-doubt. In addition, the small orange silhouette might be the Winged Strawberries.

A Hat in Time

Among Us is most probably bringing in the characters from A Hat in Time into their universe. The game follows Hat Kid, an alien girl in a platform game set in an open-world environment as she tries to recover the in-game collectibles, "Time Pieces" to help her return back to her home. The three silhouette seems to portray the main character Hat Kid and Bow Kid along with the antagonist Mustache Girl.

Untitled Goose Game

This is perhaps the most obvious clue as the silhouette very much looks like the goose character from the Untitled Goose Game. The other silhouette seems to be one of the villagers, the Groundskeeper.

The game was developed by an Australian indie studio, House House. The players control a goose who bothers the inhabitants of an English village. They can honk, flap their wings, and grab objects with their beaks as they try and complete their objectives.

Crypt of the NecroDancer

The shovel silhouette might indicate the treasure-hunting game Shovel Knight. However, a lot of people believe that the characters might be from the Crypt of the NecroDancer. The roguelike rhythm video game follows characters who explore the underground dungeon while performing actions to the beat of the music.

The silhouette seems to portray Cadence, the main character who has to fight through the crypt's dungeon in search of her father and to retrieve her heart. Furthermore, the silhouette beside her seems to be one of the monsters in the game.
