Assassin’s Creed has confirmed that the next installment is coming soon. Titled Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming Ubisoft game will take place in feudal Japan. The official Twitter account confirmed that the first trailer will drop on Wednesday, May 15.

When does the trailer come out?

The first trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows will premiere on May 15 at 9 a.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET / 5 p.m. GMT. Our first glimpse of the game, and likely its release date, will be revealed then on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel.

What is Assassin's Creed Shadows?

So far, we don’t know much about the next Assassin's Creed game beyond the title and the setting. The project was revealed all the way in 2022, then known as Codename Red. Details have been sparse since the original announcement until now.

Players can likely look forward to exploring feudal Japan, where its ninjas and samurai will fit in perfectly to the Assassin’s Creed stealth focused gameplay.

We’ll know exactly when AC Shadows comes out when the first trailer drops on Ubisoft’s YouTube Channel. However, a leak from a Ubisoft affiliated YouTube channel suggests that the game will come out on November 15, 2024. This release date does seem likely based on typical game release schedules.

What consoles will the next AC be on?

Though nothing is confirmed yet, according to a listing on the Ubisoft Store, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. This means that it will skip the PS4 and Xbox One.
