During Gamescom ONL, Konami premiered a twisted new story trailer for Silent Hill f. The three-minute-long trailer establishes the narrative, reveals new characters, non-soulslike combat encounters, and locations, and confirms the English voice cast for the game.

Suzie Yeung plays Hinako in Silent Hill f. Fans may recall Yeung as the voice of Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy and Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals. While we don't have details about the rest of the cast, we do see and hear several new faces in the trailer, including a mysterious masked man.

Arguably, the highlight of this trailer is when we see the mysterious silver-haired character in a fox mask who guides Hinako through the alternate world. He says Hinako saved his life and claimed his soul, and in return, he will save her soul by claiming the life of her old self. Not creepy at all, right?

The rest of the trailer focuses on Hinaki exploring various spooky environments and fighting enemies like a marionette monster and a shrieking doll with many hands. We also get a glimpse of Hinaki’s house, which, unsurprisingly, has turned into a horror fest. What’s more, an unnamed woman asks Hinako to kill “them [who?] with your hands.”

The woman could be referring to Hinako’s friends, who might have bullied or done her wrong in the past. Silent Hill f will explore themes like gender discrimination and child abuse, and it could all be related to Hinako’s past and her involvement with her friends.

Perhaps the most intriguing story buildup happens when a weary Hinako encounters her other self in the dilapidated house, who asks her to “just die.” It all seems to suggest that Hinako is being guided by otherworldly beings to slaughter her friends and destroy her past self in the process.

Silent Hill f is written by horror writer Ryukishi07. Players familiar with his work, particularly Higurashi When They Cry, should find themselves right at home in Silent Hill f, as both seem to explore similar themes about betrayal and brutality.
