Undertale and Minecraft’s soundtracks currently stand as the two most streamed Video Game soundtracks on Spotify according to a recent report.

Music streaming service Spotify has recently shown off the most popular Video Game soundtracks and songs. The list, which features tracks from iconic games like Minecraft and Doom, shows just how impactful many video game soundtracks have been across the community.

A good video game would be incomplete without an ear-shattering soundtrack to accompany it. Whether it be a soft, melodic symphony, or an ear-shattering concert designed to create epic moments, the soundtrack is an integral part of the gaming experience. And sometimes there are games where the soundtracks take on a life of their own. And now, thanks to Spotify, we have a clearer picture of the video game songs and soundtracks that have really stuck with gamers.

Most Popular Video Game Soundtracks

The report, which was initially published in the Pledge Times, features music from many iconic triple-A titles, as well as a couple of beloved indie games. Below we have included the lists for the most streamed Video Game Soundtracks, as well as the Top 10 most played Video Game Songs currently on Spotify. It is no surprise to see Undertale's soundtrack topping this list. The iconic indie game title, created by Toby Fox, features one of the most recognizable soundtracks of the last decade; with one of their songs also featuring in the individual songs category. Close behind in second is the melodic, and very relaxing Minecraft soundtrack. And then following close behind in third is the highly popular MMORPG Skyrim.

What is surprising is that another indie game in Ori and The Blind Forest, also features in this list. It goes to show just how much love there is for the indie game community. What is equally surprising is that neither The Last of Us nor Doom 2016, is currently situated in the Top 5 of this Video Games Soundtrack list.

Top 10 Most Streamed Video Game Songs

Now that we have shown off the most streamed Video Game Soundtracks on Spotify, we will now be showing off the Top 10 most streamed Video Game Songs on the platform.

  1. MEGALOVANIA - Undertale (114,793,396)
  2. Sweden - Minecraft (100,081,195)
  3. Rip & Tear - Doom 2016 (61,771,368)
  4. 115 - Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies (53,488,685)
  5. r-Cali - GTA V (52,478,500)

  7. The Last of Us - The Last of Us (42,263,508)
  8. Ezio's Family - Assassin's Creed 2 (34,667,975)
  9. Dragonborn - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (30,689,746)
  10. God of War - God of War 2018 (29,203,035)

Just like with the soundtracks it is unsurprising to see Undertale on top. Megalovania is easily one of the most recognizable songs within the Gaming industry. The first few notes alone are enough to get people excited.

A Doom song being in the Top 3 should also come as no surprise, especially given how popular Mick Gordon's soundtracks are within the community. His heavy guitar composition mixed with the unmistakable drum beats are guaranteed to make you feel like you are at a Metal concert. As was shown during his performance of the song at the 2016 Game Awards.

And then sandwiched in the middle of the two is Sweden from Minecraft. Which, unlike the previously mentioned songs, is geared more towards a calming adventure, or a relaxing nap. A common trait amongst the majority of the songs in the ever-present sandbox game.

And there you have it, the most-streamed Video Game songs and soundtracks on Spotify. But with so many games pumping out incredible soundtracks of their own, who knows how long any of these will remain on this list.
