The release date for Stellar Blade is near at hand, and after a flurry of marketing in March there's massive excitement for the full release of Shift Up's PlayStation 5 exclusive title.
Shift Up already released a demo giving players a taste of the action. When does Stellar Blade come out? (Release Date)
Stellar Blade will release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024.
Release Date countdown
Below is a countdown to the Stellar Blade's release date. Shift Up did not specify a time, but PlayStation releases often launch around noon EST. While there is a Digital Deluxe Edition available for purchase, it does not give you early access to the game.
Stellar Blade Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Ahead of the Stellar Blade release date players have the option to Pre-order one of two editions of the game. The Standard edition is $69.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is $79.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a good amount of bonus content including the Stargazer Suit for Stellar Blade's EVE. There are also skins for both of EVE's other squad members, NPCs Lily and Adam.

Pre-Order Bonuses
Regardless of whether you buy the Standard or Digital Deluxe edition of Stellar Blade you will receive three Pre-Order Bonuses. The Round Glasses and Earrings are cosmetics that will likely offer small buffs based on the Stellar Blade demo. However, the Planet Diving Suit will be an exclusive skin which EVE can wear in-game as well as in all cut-scenes. There will be a total of 30 Stellar Blade outfits at launch. EVE has two outfits by default, Planet Diving Suit (7th) and the Skin Suit.

What kind of game is Stellar Blade?
Stellar Blade is a single player action sci-fi adventure game with swift combat and RPG elements. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows the story of EVE and her squadron, as they try to reclaim Earth from the Naytiba, a malevolent force who have laid it to ruins.
Think Nier: Automata meets Dark Souls, and you've got Stellar Blade. Stellar Blade's EVE is the only playable character in the game. However, South Korean developers Shift Up have shared EVE will have assistance from two key NPCs; Lily and Adam.
Is Stellar Blade worth buying?
Based on the playable Stellar Blade demo and footage of gameplay coming in full release, Stellar Blade is definitely worth buying. While it is a brand new IP, the game offers far more than just an attractive protagonist based on a 3D body scan of South Korean model. The combat is challenging but not to the point its tedious, and the mix of EVE's gentile movements with her unfiltered carnage makes for a unique experience.
From the demo we got a taste of the world inside the opening city, but the ending trailer of the demo hints at open world. Overall, PS5 exclusives are rare, but Stellar Blade looks set to be one of the biggest PlayStation releases of 2024.
Stellar Blade's director confirmed there will be no microtransactions, but didn't rule out potential paid collaborations to feature IP crossovers. Here's hoping for 2B outfit in Stellar Blade.
