What are Halo Championship (HCS) points and how are they earned?

Here’s how to earn the Halo Championship Points

343 Industries have revealed that players can earn Halo Championship Points points in the HCS Pro Series. Starting Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, all players will be able to earn HCS points, be it amateur or pros.

Many players might be unaware of how the points system works in the HCS Pro Series, with a Twitter post sharing the details. Players must create and link their FACEIT and Esports Engine accounts over at HCS.EE.GG. HCS points are then earned based on placement and are used to seed players and teams in future HCS events.

In a recent blog post, 343 Industries shared some extra information on the format of the upcoming HCS events, along with a more in-depth look at the points system.

The Halo Championship Series format is built on open entry where players make their way up the regional and then global ladder, all on the way towards finding the best team at the Halo World Championship.

The backbone of the roadmap will be the HCS Points system which will rank every competitor in the ecosystem. In order to compete and earn points, you must have an Xbox Live account in good standing, as well as signed and linked accounts on Faceit and the Esports Engine platform.

We’ve also created “ranks” in the points ladder so that you can be officially recognized and given status for how you’re performance in the scene stacks up against everyone else.

A helpful image was also supplied to further break down HCS ranks, which you can view below.

Whilst additional information on how HCS points are earned is hard to come by, there is a detailed breakdown on how points are earned at events. The points breakdown is as follows.
