Hearthstone International Showmatch MVP drives home with exclusive custom car

Eight players will compete in the Hearthstone International Showmatch on Sept. 29. The MVP will get to drive a customized Yangwang U9.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the Hearthstone International Showmatch event, which features eight players duking it out in Hangzhou, China later this month. The total prize pool is 400,000 RMB, which is about $56,231.92 USD at the time of publishing this article. However, perhaps even more interesting is that the tournament MVP gets to drive a Hearthstone-themed Yangwang U9.

The Hearthstone International Showmatch kicks off on Sept. 29 with eight players split into two teams. Each team must bring 11 decks covering all Hearthstone classes and ban three of the opposing team’s classes. Each player is also assigned two of the remaining classes. The team that conquers all of the opposing team’s classes claims victory.

According to the official announcement, the first phase of the Hearthstone International Showmatch begins on Sept. 29 at 12:10 a.m. PDT. Then, there's a break at 4 a.m. PDT before the final starts at 5 a.m. PDT.

"The player who defeats the most opponents will be named the tournament MVP and awarded one-year exclusive use of a Hearthstone-themed, customized Yangwang U9," the announcement added.

While the eight invited players are in Hangzhou, China, fans who are keen to support them can do so via the Twitch and YouTube livestreams. Those who check out the Twitch livestream can also earn up to two Lost City of Un’Goro card packs.

Hearthstone International Showmatch teams and players

In terms of the players, they include Hearthstone esports stars such as Raphael "BunnyHoppor" Peltzer, Frederik "Furyhunter" Møller, Gabriel "Gaby" Jeanne, and Thijs "Thijs" Molendijk. All of these players represent Europe. As for China, the chosen players representing the region are mlYanming, Chu Chu, LvGe, and Loatheb.
