Hearthstone patch 30.4.3 notes: Big Spell Mage nerf

According to Blizzard, this patch is a response to the Perils in Paradise Mini-Set. The arrival of this Mini-Set, which is also known as The Traveling Travel Agency, introduced a significant outlier in the Hearthstone meta.

Big Spell Mage, in particular, frustrated players due to its prevalence in matches. This deck also provided folks with early power spikes. Therefore, this deck got nerfed in Hearthstone patch 30.4.3.

"The goal of these changes is to push back the average Big Spell turn a bit and to shave a little power from the deck, while allowing it to keep its core functionality," Blizzard explained.

However, while Portalmancer Skyla and Surfalopod got nerfed, Turbulus received a buff. This Elemental minion is now a 3 Mana 3/3 instead of a 4 Mana 3/4.

"With one [Mini-Set] Tourist getting toned down, we wanted to give the other one some help so that players can try another fun vacation destination and make the most of what it has to offer," Blizzard stated.

In terms of other updates, the Hearthstone Battlegrounds game mode received a slew of them. According to Blizzard, these adjustments were made with three goals in mind.

These included making Trinkets cheaper to allow for more decisions each turn, nerfing the power of Demon minions while buffing Dragons, Pirates, Murlocs, Elementals, and Naga, and buffing underperforming heroes.
