It’s time to jump into the past, present, and future!
Hearthstone's newest expansion, Across the Timeways, is now live! This expansion features 145 new cards, the Fabled plus Rewind keywords, and references galore. Here's what to expect when you enter the tavern.
Hearthstone Across the Timeways release date
Hearthstone's Across the Timeways expansion released worldwide on Nov. 4. Prior to its launch, players got to participate in the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl. Some invited folks also got to duke it out in a theorycrafting event and showcase Across the Timeways decks.

Fabled cards enter Hearthstone
Now, however, everyone can create some Across the Timeways decks and climb the ranked Hearthstone ladder. Legendary cards to note include the Fabled minions. Each class gets a unique one, and they come with additional cards. For example, the Rogue class' Garona Halforcen includes King Llane and The Kingslayers.
In an exclusive interview with esports.gg, the Hearthstone team shared some behind-the-scenes details about the creation of this particular Fabled card.
"Gameplay-wise, we wanted to capture this fantasy of Garona hunting King Llane," senior game designer Stephen Chang. "And because of the Fabled mechanic, we were able to have this type of interaction. This isn't something we would normally be able to do with a standard legendary card, but because of the Fabled package and the bundle that we can have, we can guarantee that King Llane is going to be in your opponent's deck. And then as a result, Garona can hunt him down. That fantasy was very powerful, and we think players will have a lot of fun trying to pull that off and reap the benefits of that."
All of the Fabled cards and their extras can be found via the game's official card library.

How Rewind works in Hearthstone
Rewind is another addition to the Across the Timeways expansion. After playing a card with this keyword and seeing its effect, the player can choose to either press "Keep" to accept the result or "Rewind" to replay the card for a chance at a better outcome. The image below demonstrates this with the Semi-Stable Portal. The first result is a Wisp minion. However, after pressing "Rewind," the result is Ragnaros the Firelord.

New Hearthstone location cards
Folk can experiment with some new location cards in Across the Timeways, too. These cards let them play iconic Azeroth locations across the past, present, and future. For example, players can admire Silvermoon in its prime, after Arthas' attack, and in a future where the Dead Scar area begins to heal. Other locations include ones such as Gnomeregan and the Temporal Conflux.

Across the Timeways Tavern Pass
Of course, with every new Hearthstone expansion comes a brand-new Tavern Pass. The one for Across the Timeways features XP boosts, card packs, and cosmetics galore! The full details of what’s included in the new Tavern Pass are available in the Battle.net shop.
