Folks in the Arcane fandom have created an entire week dedicated to the Jayvik pairing.
Arcane Season 2 may have ended last year, but the fandom is still going strong. One part of the fandom, particularly those who enjoy pairing Jayce Talis and Viktor together, recently created an entire event dedicated to the duo. Enter Jayvik Gothic & Horror Week.
Arcane fans create Jayvik Gothic & Horror Week
According to jvhorrorweek, the account hosting the fandom event, Jayvik Gothic & Horror Week runs from Dec. 5 to Dec. 14. The event features 10 prompts that cover tropes like Final Girl and Twist Ending as well as themes that go into the psychological and paranormal.
"Why do people make horror and gothic stories? They exist to scare -- to frighten and repulse and shock," jvhorrorweek wrote. "Horror and gothic were born to face the deepest fears of society, [to] comprehend the unknown and the darkness of humankind."
Jayvik Gothic & Horror Week encourages various types of submissions. These include fanart, fanfiction, podfics, cosplays, edits, and even roleplay. Registration isn't required, as it's an event that's open to the Jayvik fandom at large. However, it should be noted that this event is for adults. Therefore, participants should tag their contributions properly. More details about the guidelines can be found in the event's dedicated post about them. There are more guidelines in the replies as well.
Jayvik in the Arcane fandom
This isn't the first time that folks in the Arcane fandom have united over the Jayvik pairing. Earlier this year, bbno$ and Will Neff did a Jayvik photoshoot together. While bbno$ went as Viktor, Will Neff cosplayed as Jayce. The cosplay became a huge hit.
After watching Arcane, bbno$ came up with the idea to do a Jayvik cosplay. He then spoke with Will Neff and worked with Jessica Nigri and Stella Chuu to make it happen.
"I had this video of me pointing up like, '500,000 likes and I'll do an insane Jayvik cosplay,'" bbno$ said. "It ended up getting a million, so I'm just gonna stitch that and then we can just kiss in it."
"We will be reenacting every fanfic all at once," he added.
The Jayvik cosplay was all for a good cause, too. According to bbno$, the money generated from the cosplay stream went to wildfire relief in Los Angeles.
