The League of Legends MSI 2024 Play-In Stage starts tomorrow, May 1. North America (NA) is sending their top two teams from the NA League Championship Series Spring 2024 playoffs to compete on the international stage.
Here's everything you need to know on the representatives from NA and their paths to League of Legends MSI 2024.
Team Liquid Honda (1st seed)
North American (NA) League Championship Series champions for the first time since their four-peat stretch in 2018-2019, Team Liquid return to the international stage with a mix of veterans and relatively inexperienced, but talented players.
While the roster includes two former world champions in Impact and CoreJJ, the team's regular season was not all smooth sailing. However, they seemed to peak when it mattered most in playoffs, securing NA's number one seed for MSI 2024.

Their NA LCS Spring 2024 split
In typical Team Liquid fashion, they finished fourth in the LCS 2024 Spring regular season. With a record of 7-7 and a mixed display of performances, it was easy to expect teams above them in the standings to end up in the finals instead of them.
NA LCS Spring 2024 playoffs
Their journey to the LCS Spring 2024 Finals looked like this:
- 2-3 loss in Upper Semifinals to #1 seed FlyQuest sending them to the Lower Bracket
- 3-0 win against #5 seed Dignitas in the Lower Quarterfinals
- 3-1 win against #2 seed 100 Thieves in the Lower Semifinals
- 3-0 win against #3 seed Cloud9 in the Lower Finals for a rematch against FlyQuest
From the start of the playoffs, Team Liquid Honda demonstrated the potential ceiling of the team, by taking #1 seed and eventual finalists FlyQuest to all five games in the first round of playoffs.
They then convincingly took down every other team in their way, including the two other teams seeded higher than them, en route to their finals rematch versus FlyQuest.
In the finals, it seemed as though Team Liquid Honda outclassed their former first round opponents, winning a fifth LCS title and securing their spot in the bracket stage at MSI 2024.
FlyQuest (2nd seed)
Another roster filled with veterans and less-experienced talent that also succeeded in NA LCS Spring was FlyQuest. While Cloud9's roster was hyped up to be the super team in which potentially anything less than a championship was a failure, FlyQuest re-built themselves a strong roster that analysts were not completely sure where to rank in the preseason. With hungry and young talent in the bot lane paired with established veterans in the remaining roles, the 2024 FlyQuest roster looked promising from the start.

Their NA LCS Spring 2024 split
Surpassing all expectations, FlyQuest found themselves tied for first place with 100 Thieves at the end of the NA LCS 2024 Spring regular season. Although both teams had 10-4 records, by beating 100 Thieves twice in the regular season, FlyQuest were the #1 seed going into playoffs.

Their journey to the LCS Spring 2024 Finals looked like this:
- 3-2 win in Upper Semifinals against #4 seed Team Liquid Honda
- 3-0 win against #3 seed Cloud 9 in the Upper Finals
FlyQuest played two less playoffs series to reach the NA LCS Spring Finals 2024, and fell to champions Team Liquid Honda in four games. While they demonstrated weaknesses in that series, they aim to bounce back stronger in the international stage at MSI 2024.
