LTA North Split 3: Format updates
The Split kicks off with best-of-three (Bo3) matches in a new system called Pick n' Play. At the end of each week, teams will select their opponents for the following week. Starting from the bottom of the standings, the lowest-ranked teams, based on match and game records, will have the opportunity to challenge higher-ranked teams. It’s a strategic climb, as each team aims to rise through the ranks and steer clear of elimination.
When elimination matches begin, all series will shift to a best-of-five (Bo5) format to fully showcase the intensity of Fearless Draft. During this phase, the selection process flips: higher-ranked teams will choose their lower-ranked opponents.
The last team standing at the end of Split 3 will be crowned the Conference Champion, hoisting the LTA North Split 3 trophy and securing a coveted spot at the LoL Worlds. Additionally, the top three teams will advance to the cross-conference playoffs, where they’ll battle for the LTA Championship and one final ticket to Worlds. This year, the biggest international event of League of Legends is happening in Chengdu, China, in October.
The LTA is heading to Texas!
Once Split 3 concludes in both LTA North and South, the race for the first-ever LTA Championship trophy begins in Los Angeles. Six teams will face off, with the top three advancing to Texas for the LTA Championship Driven by Kia. The showdown will take place on Sept. 27 and 28 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center, where one team will make history. The tickers are already available on Ticketmaster's official page.
As for the LTA Fantasy app, keep engaging every week because it will continue throughout Split 3. After some fan feedback, Riot Games is improving the experience, but essentially, the systems will be the same. The top 100 placements in each conference will earn a skin!
