Diablo Immortal Heroes of the Hearth event

The new Heroes of the Hearth event in Diablo Immortal kicks off on July 30 and runs through Aug. 27, giving players about a month to collect Hearthstone cards and get special affixes with them. It features the Enchanted Planes and Trial of the Hearth game modes.

"Collect and earn powerful cards from the Hearthstone universe to augment and imbue your powers," Blizzard Entertainment explained, adding that the event also involves card-based mechanics.

Logging in during the event grants several free rewards as well, including a 2-star manaflux legendary gem, 10 legendary crests, a portal cosmetic, plus an avatar frame.

  • Druid: Swipe, Ancient of Lore
  • Hunter: Explosive Trap, Snake Trap
  • Mage: Polymorph, Ice Block
  • Paladin: Blessing of Wisdom, Lay on Hands
  • Priest: Holy Nova, Shadow Form
  • Rogue: Backstab, Preparation
  • Shaman: Windfury, Lightning Storm
  • Warlock: Flame Imp, Defile
  • Warrior: Bash, Blade Storm

Diablo Immortal Hearthstone cards

There are 18 classic Hearthstone cards in this Diablo Immortal event as well. Each of Hearthstone's original nine classes gets two cards, and these classes are Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior.

Players who are familiar with Hearthstone may already know what all of these cards do. However, they do have a twist in the Diablo universe. For example, the Polymorph spell in Hearthstone transforms a minion into a 1/1 Sheep. However, in Diablo Immortal, it's more like Mass Polymorph. This is because Diablo Immortal's version of the card involves the chance of transforming a bunch of nearby enemies into Yaks. Polymorphed enemies then take increased damage.

Another Diablo twist is the Defile card. It makes it so that there's a chance to mark nearby enemies with the Defile status. Marked enemies are then damaged, and if they die with a mark, then Defile spreads to unmarked enemies nearby. Hearthstone's version of Defile is a spell that requires a bit more math in that it deals 1 damage to all minions, and if any of them die, the spell gets cast again.

Is Diablo Immortal x Hearthstone using AI?

According to Hearthstone player and content creator Clark HELLSCREAM, the artwork for the Diablo Immortal x Hearthstone crossover is suspect. In a YouTube video, he zoomed in on the details of the crossover's artwork. The Righteous Protector card in Hearthstone, for example, is mirrored in the Diablo Immortal artwork. The text for the Paladin minion is not clear, either. Clark HELLSCREAM pointed out how Tyrande is holding a mirrored version of Hearthstone's default card back, too.

Ipyreable from the Hearthstone subreddit also made a post about the situation, and many folks under Diablo Immortal's official X post about the crossover expressed their disappointment.
