Blizzard has revealed the official gameplay trailer for upcoming damage hero Freja. Read on for the full Overwatch 2 Freja gameplay trailer plus the details of what to expect from her when she arrives in the game.
Overwatch 2 Freja gameplay trailer
Freja's Overwatch 2 gameplay trailer is now live. Blizzard revealed this video of her on March 21 following the release of her hero trailer and comic in the same week. The timing makes sense since the Freja playtest kicks off today on March 21.
In her gameplay trailer, we can see Freja in action as she launches herself into the air with Updraft, uses Quick Dash, and makes the most out of her Revdraw Crossbow. The gameplay trailer shows Freja using Take Aim to attack Juno with an explosive and high-speed bolt as well.
Bola Shot, Freja's ultimate, is also in the trailer. We can see it wrap around Hazard and pull in Mei and Baptiste.
Of course, this trailer gives us a preview of what Freja sounds like in the game, too.

Overwatch 2 Freja release date
The new gameplay trailer also revealed the exact release date of Freja. She's scheduled to arrive on Overwatch 2 Season 16 on April 22. Therefore, after playtesting her this weekend between March 21 and March 24, players won't have to wait too long before they can play as Freja for good.
Overwatch 2 Freja abilities, ultimate, and passive
- Revdraw Crossbow (Primary Fire) – Fires automatic bolts rapidly.
- Take Aim (Secondary Fire) – Slows Freja's momentum and allows her to aim with an explosive, high-speed bolt. Can be refreshed using Quick Dash.
- Quick Dash (Movement Ability) – Vaults Freja in the direction she's moving. Refreshes Take Aim.
- Updraft (Movement Ability) – Launches Freja upward.
- Bola Shot (Ultimate) – Fires an explosive bola that wraps around an opponent and pulls them into nearby enemies if it connects.
- Bounty Hunting (Passive) – Grants Freja bonus ultimate charge for every three final blows.

- Frost Bolts (Minor Perk) – Enemies hit by three regular bolts in quick succession are slowed by 20% for a couple of seconds.

- Ready to Hunt (Major Perk) – Updraft grants a temporary free use of Quick Dash.
- Relentless Barrage (Major Perk) – Direct hits with Take Aim refund four automatic bolt ammo.
