Blizzard has revealed the official Overwatch 2 Season 15 patch notes. This brand-new season not only features the Perks system, but also the Perked Up event, a new year for the Competitive game mode, gorgeous mythic Zenyatta skin, free Rainy Day Mei skin through Twitch drops, and so much more.
Overwatch 2 patch notes today
The Overwatch 2 Season 15 patch notes mostly go into what players can expect when the launch the game now. The update first goes over the new Pixiu Zenyatta skin plus its Gilded Aspect customization option.
Next up, the patch notes go over the arrival of loot boxes in Overwatch 2. Notably, starting this season, you can earn up to three loot boxes every week just by completing 27 games each week. Remember that a match victory means double the progress. Additionally, you can get a free legendary loot box in the normal version of the Battle Pass. The paid version lets you earn two more legendary loot boxes.

- Epic: 21.93%
- Rare: 96.26%
- Common: 97.97%

Today's Overwatch 2 patch notes then go over updates to the Competitive game mode. There's a skill rank reset and players can get new Galactic weapon skins and weapon charm rewards. The Galactic weapon variants can be unlocked with Competitive Points. Meanwhile, Jade and Gold weapons are now legacy rewards that can be bought with Legacy Competitive Points. Your Competitive Points for 2024 are turned into this type of in-game currency.
In terms of other Competitive updates, you can now use rank icons to show off your skills. As for the map pool, Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis are no longer in it.
As for general updates, the developers revealed that custom lines can now play for individual players without affecting opponents. "Emotes can now be cancelled mid-animation shortly after they are activated." the patch notes stated as well.

Finally, we just have some general bug fixes. Notably, the developers fixed a bug where Hazard's Jagged Wall projectiles didn't respect barriers.
