Overwatch 2 Stadium Season 17 patch brings new heroes, Stadium Drives, and rewards

Here’s the latest on the Overwatch 2 Stadium game mode, including a delay to Stadium Unranked, Pharah replacing Sojourn, lots of new maps, and more.

Blizzard Entertainment just revealed some new information about what's next for the Overwatch 2 Stadium game mode. The post covered Overwatch 2 Stadium Seasons 17, 18, 19, and beyond. Read on for the latest details!

Overwatch 2 Stadium Season 17 roadmap

  • Junkrat, Sigma, and Zenyatta enter the game mode
  • Esperança map
  • Samoa map
  • Stadium Drives
  • Stadium Forge
  • New All-Star rewards
  • Custom games
  • More example builds

According to the updated roadmap, Overwatch 2 Stadium Season 17 will add Junkrat, Sigma, and Zenyatta to the hero pool. Players will also be able to duke it out on the Esperança and Samoa maps while checking out the new Stadium Drives and Stadium Forge features. This Season 17 Stadium update will bring in new All-Star rewards, custom games, plus more example builds as well.

Stadium Unranked was originally announced for Season 17, however, on June 18, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that it will be pushed to Season 18.

  • Pharah, Winston, and Brigitte enter Overwatch 2 Stadium

In terms of other new information, Blizzard Entertainment previously announced Sojourn, Winston, and Brigitte for Overwatch 2 Stadium Season 18. However, on June 18, the developer revealed that Pharah will replace Sojourn instead.

"Hero release orders have also been shifted," the post stated. Pharah will be joining the Stadium roster in Season 18, alongside Winston and Brigitte, to offer a new gameplay style to Stadium. Sojourn needs a bit more tuning, so she’ll now be added in Season 19 and we may use a future Weekly Recall to share exactly what the process of bringing Sojourn to Stadium looks like."

Other Season 18 updates will include the arrival of the Route 66 and London maps, the Payload Race game mode, a Stadium Draft mode, new All-Star rewards, endorsements, the aforementioned Overwatch 2 Stadium Unranked mode alongside crossplay and backfill, plus the arrival of Tracer in the mid-season update.

As for Overwatch 2 Stadium Season 19, more heroes will join the roster alongside Sojourn. Will these heroes match the Baptiste, Echo, Hanzo, Doomfist, and Roadhog silhouettes in the roadmap's artwork? Only time will tell. There will also be a new map based in China, the Stadium Trials feature, plus the arrival of consumables and active items.
