Get ready to vote for the next featured Community Day Pokémon.
We're seeing something that we haven't seen in Pokémon GO for some time, with the featured Pokémon for the upcoming August Community Day will be chosen by vote. The Community will have a 24-hour period to choose from four different Pokémon.
This isn't the first time we have seen Community Day Pokémon decided by vote. However, we have not seem Community Day voting since 2020. That makes this an exciting return for this popular system. Trainers have been somewhat underwhelmed by recent Community Day events, so this is a welcome way to shake things up.
When is the August Pokémon GO Community Day vote?
The Community Day vote will take place on Saturday, June 7, at 6:00 p.m. PDT until Sunday, June 8, at 6:00 p.m. PDT. In order to vote, you'll need to visit the poll that is on the official Pokémon GO YouTube channel.
Voting only lasts for 24 hours - so make sure you remember to visit and cast your vote during that period. Every Trainer is able to cast one vote.

What are the four potential August Pokémon GO Community Day Pokémon?
The four options for the August Community Day are:
- Lechonk
- Frillish
- Rookidee
- Wimpod

Of the four options to choose from, three have shinies in the game already and one does not. That Pokémon would be Rookidee, and is proving an early favourite in discussion taking place online.
Wimpod requires 400 candy to evolve, so with the usual candy bonuses avaliable, this would be a very useful Community Day for certain players.
Frillish has two different colors depending on the gender, which means there is technically two different shinies to get.
Then, finally, Lechonk is a pretty iconic Pokémon with a fantastic shiny option. Everyone loves this Pokémon and it is sure to be a contender.
Fear not, it seems that all of these Pokémon will get a Community Day eventually. However, it could be quite the wait so make sure to rally your friends behind whichever Pokémon you are rooting for!
