Huge leaks ahead about Legends Z-A.
Social media has been suddenly awash with leaks about new Mega Evolutions that are coming in Pokémon Legends Z-A later this year. We have had incredibly few details about the latest Pokémon instalment, only having had one small drop of information since the game was announced.
However, the return of the Mega Evolution mechanic was one of the very first things teased about the game. The Mega Evolution symbol appeared at the end of the first announcement back in February 2024. From almost that moment on, fans have been theory crafting about which Pokémon should get a Mega Evolution in this game.
It seems now thanks to some new Pokémon Legends Z-A leaks, we know which new mega forms to expect. All of this information is speculation and not confirmed, so bear that in mind until we get more details.
Leakers say Pokémon Legends Z-A will introduce 26 new Mega Evolutions
Mega Evolution was introduced in Pokémon X & Y. When the game released, it debuted 48 new Mega Evolutions to previously existing Pokémon. Now, given this is a Legends game and not the first introduction of this mechanic it would be unreasonable to expect quite so many additional megas in this game.
With that in mind, about 26 new Mega Evolutions looks to be about reasonable for this game. These are all for existing Pokémo. It is not clear if Legends Z-A will introduce any brand new Pokémon, or if it will debut any regional forms either. The previous Legends game, Legends Arceus, debuted a few new Hisui forms.

The Pokémon Legends Z-A mega leaks have come from the above image, which is slowly being populated by a leaker. There are still a few gaps to be filled. Additionally, there is some confusion around the presence of AZ's Floette. Mega Evolutions are for the final stage of a Pokémon. This could mean Mega Florges, or just be something specifically for this special Floette.
Perhaps the most exciting inclusion's here are Dragonite and Greninja. These are two hugely popular Pokémon and should have very exciting Mega Evolutions, both visually but also from an in-game perspective. Mega Zygarde is another exciting inclusion, and it would be a huge surprise if at least this one Mega Evolution wasn't in the final game.
