Get ready for Vanillite Community Day in Pokémon GO.
The next Pokémon GO Community Day will feature Vanillite. This will provide Pokémon GO Trainers a chance to grab a Shiny Vanillite , and get a Vanilluxe with exclusive move, Avalanche.
Vanillite Community Day takes place Saturday, April 27 from 2 p.m until 5 p.m local time.
Vanillite Community Day might get a very mixed reaction from Pokémon GO Trainers. Vanillite isn't one of the most useful Pokémon, and is a bit of a love it or hate it Pokémon. However, we are at least getting a solid bonus for this Community Day, with a huge 3x XP on offer. So, this is a great chance to meet up with your friends and play some Pokémon GO.
Vanillite Pokémon GO Community Day bonuses
The following bonuses will be in effect for trainers during Vanillite Community Day in Pokémon GO.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours
- Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Vanillite Community Day
- Take a few Snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- One additional special trade (for a maximum of 3)*
- Trades cost 50% less Stardust*
*These bonuses are active until 10pm local time.
There will also be a revamped $2 Research Ticket and special item-bundles in the Pokémon GO Store.
Featured Pokémon: Vanillite
During the event times, Vanillite will be appearing much more frequently in the wild. You'll also have a increased chance of catching a Shiny Vanillite.
There will also be a featured move for evolving Vanillite. Any Vanillish evolved into Vanilluxe during Vanillite Pokémon GO Community Day will learn Avalanche, an Ice-type move. If you have any Vanilluxe already, the only way they can learn this move is through an Elite TM.

What is Vanilluxe best Pokémon GO moveset?
Vanillite Community Day will add an attack for Vanilluxe, Avalanche. This move will give Vanilluxe some more bite in Raids, but won't make a difference to PvP.

Vanillite Community Day: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks
This Vanillite Pokémon GO Community Day is primarily a great chance to get a Shiny of a new Pokémon if you don't have it already.
You will want to have a single focus during this event. Catch, catch and catch. You can get a huge amount of Stardust from this event thanks to the 3x XP bonus, and of course the more Pokémon you encounter the more shiny Vanillite you will encounter too. Don't forget to stack up the Field Research that can give you encounters with Special Background Vanillite. This includes win a five star Raid and Trade a Pokémon.
There is no Stardust bonus for this event, instead focused on XP. However, one thing you can do to make even more XP gains is to you have a Pokémon at Mega Level 3 that will boost candy and XP from catching Vanillite. Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP for catching Vanillite:
- Glalie
- Abomasnow
Don't forget some other easy tips:
- Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Vanillite.
- Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
- Don't activate Lures or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
