The BMW Series 1 car is now in Rocket League.

The Rocket League Season 16 is all set for an explosive start. The new season features the brand-new BMW 1 Series Car, a new arena, and a few changes to tournaments, and more. Here’s all you need to know about the new season and when it will be released.

When does Rocket League Season 16 start?

Rocket League Season 16 kicked off on September 4 at 8 am PDT. There was a brief downtime during this time when Rocket League players were unable to load the game. But after the game servers went back on, there have been thousands of players logging in and trying out the new Drift Woods Arena, the new BMW Series 1 car, and more.

What’s new in Rocket League Season 16?

Rocket League Season 16 brings a series of changes including a new arena, a new car and ofcourse, tournament changes and improvements. Here are the Season 16 patch notes and anything else you need to know about the new season.

New Arena

  • The new Arena ‘Drift Woods’ is live in Online Matches, Private Matches, Offline Matches, and Free Play.

Season 15 Competitive Rewards

  • Season 15 Reward Items and Titles will be awarded according to your highest Rank achieved during the season, and successful completion of the appropriate Season Reward Levels.
  • Season 15 Rewards are Avatar Border and Player Banner
    • Bronze I or higher: S15 – Bronze Avatar Border and Player Banner
    • Silver I or higher: S15 –  Silver Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Gold I or higher: S15 – Gold Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Platinum I or higher: S15 – Platinum Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Diamond I or higher: S15 – Diamond Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Champion I or higher: S15 – Champion Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Grand Champion I or higher: S15 – Grand Champion Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
    • Supersonic Legend: S15 – Supersonic Legend Avatar Border and Player Banner + lower rewards
  • Grand Champion Titles (in Crimson text)
    • Competitive Grand Champion: ‘S15 GRAND CHAMPION’
    • Rumble Grand Champion: ‘S15 RNG CHAMP’
    • Hoops Grand Champion: ‘S15 DUNK MASTER’
    • Snow Day Grand Champion: ‘S15 BLIZZARD WIZARD’
  • Supersonic Legend Titles (in Titanium White text)

Changes to Tournament Time Slots

  • One additional tournament time slot has been added to each tournament region, and added two time slots in the Middle East (ME) region. See the schedule below for these new time slots.
  • Monday - Friday
    • North America: 3 AM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • Europe: 6 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • South America: 11:30 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
      • The existing 8:30 PM UTC time slot will change to Extra Modes Playlist
    • Oceania: 11 AM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
      • The existing 7 AM UTC time slot will change to Extra Modes Playlist.
    • Middle East: 2:30 PM UTC and 6:30 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • Asia: 2 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
  • Saturday and Sunday
    • North America: 3 AM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • Europe: 2 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • South America: 11:30 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
      • The existing 6:30 PM UTC time slot will be removed.
    • Oceania: 11:00 AM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • Middle East: 6:30 PM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • Asia: 8 AM UTC (Soccar or Heatseeker)
    • South Africa: 8 PM UTC (2v2 Soccar)

Tournament Credits and Rewards 

  • Any unspent Season 15 Tournament Credits automatically convert into rewards
  • Tournament Credits have converted to the highest level reward you are capable of earning based on your Tournament Rank and the amount of Tournament Credits you have remaining
  • Every player who played in at least one tournament this season will receive one All-Star cup
  • New Tournament Reward items have been added

Challenges

  • Season 16 Stage 1 Challenges are live

Competitive

  • Season 16 Competitive has started
  • Similar to previous seasons, a soft reset has been applied to all Competitive Playlists
  • For Season 16, Competitive Dropshot replaces Competitive Snow Day
