Apeks takes the next step forward, finally staking their claim to a VCT EMEA spot after winning Ascension 2024.

Your promoted team for the 2025 VCT EMEA league has been determined. Last year it was Gentle Mates, this year it is Apeks, winning VCT EMEA Ascension over PCIFIC Espor.

The organization made sure they were not haunted by the 2023 tournament. After back-to-back VCT EMEA Ascension Grand Final matches, they've punched their ticket to the VALORANT Champions Tour.

Last year was a heartbreaker for Apeks, as they were the runners-up in VCT EMEA Ascension. They dominated the Polaris league and easily made it to the Grand Final. Gentle Mates swept them, however, ending their year with nothing to show for it.

That roster moved up to the VCT, separately, though. As its players were given offers and Apeks was made to rebuild. And rebuild they did. The current roster has plenty of star power, and only has two losses since this year's Polaris league began in February.

Including the VCT EMEA Ascension Grand Final, Apeks has only given up nine maps between their Challengers events and Ascension. It could have easily been 10, as things weren't going quite their way in the Grand Final.

PCIFIC Espor went up 2-1 in maps and had a strong lead on Lotus, the fourth map of the series. They could have claimed the VCT EMEA spot for their own, but the resiliency of Apeks saw them fight back to win Lotus 13:11 and utterly dominate map five of Ascent 13:4.

The Ascension regulation and promotion rules have changed, so Apeks aren't guaranteed to continue in the league past 2025. They'll have to put in some work and show that they are among the best EMEA has to offer in VALORANT, in order to keep their spot.

Congrats to them and we can't wait to see them in the VCT next year. In the meantime, stay tuned to esports.gg for more esports news and VALORANT coverage.
