VALORANT is introducing its first new sidearm since the game’s release: the Bandit! See what we know about this new weapon here.

For the first time since VALORANT's release, a new secondary weapon is being added: the Bandit. Here's everything we know about this sidearm.

Bandit in VALORANT

The Bandit is the first new sidearm, and the second new weapon in the game (after the Outlaw).

It is described as a "precision sidearm for those who want to steal some rounds on a budget." The Bandit has 1-tap headshot power while being cheaper than the Sheriff.

It is slightly more expensive than the Ghost, though. According to Riot, the justification behind Bandit's addition is to "offer more diversity in light rounds whether choosing to focus on Agent abilities or focus on gunplay."

This means you now have another weapon choice in Thrifty rounds, and more Credits can be invested into buying abilities instead.

The Bandit gets added to the arsenal with VALORANT patch 12.00. This update also brings the Breeze rework, some balance changes, and the new All Random One Site game mode.

Bandit details

  • Price: 600 credits
  • Attachments: None
  • Bullets per Magazine: 8
  • Ammo Reserve: 24
  • Reload Timing: 1.5s
  • Equip Timing: .75s
  • Wall Penetration: Medium

Going against the Sheriff, the tradeoffs are clear. The Sheriff has High wall penetration and, presumably, higher damage. The Bandit has more bullets per magazine, faster equip and reload speeds, but the same ammo reserve.

Meanwhile, when compared to the Ghost, there are more similarities. Both guns have Medium wall penetration, and identical equip and reload speeds. The Ghost has a bigger magazine at 13 bullets, and more ammo reserve at 39.

The glaring issue here is that the Ghost stops being able to one-shot people once they have any semblance of overhealth, or if they are over 30 meters away. The Bandit overcomes either (or both) of these issues, making it a good middle ground between the Ghost and the Sheriff.
