Cloud9 vs LOUD - Who will start their Super Week with a W?

Cloud9 is undefeated thus far. After struggling during the VCT Americas Kickoff tournament, a few roster changes were in order. That has given them the firepower needed to take down the likes of LEV and EG for a 2-0 start.

LOUD, on the other hand, has only had one match during Stage 1. They were beaten down by NRG, their classic rival in VALORANT. That puts them at three official losses in a row since the playoff bracket of VCT Masters Madrid.

This one is all about momentum. Both teams have two matches during the Super Week. So, Cloud9 vs LOUD will either see one team continue their blemish-free streak or the other finally right the ship since an international dismissal.

Cloud9 vs LOUD - VCT Americas Stage 1 recap

Read on for a written recap of Cloud9 vs LOUD, along with plenty of clips to highlight the series.

Map 1: Bind

OXY popped off for C9 in the pistol round, taking down three. The next was theirs as well, but they failed to convert the bonus. Cloud9 continued to roll, as they got more rounds on the board with a huge Showstopper from OXY.

It could have gotten bad for LOUD, but a 4K from cauanzin stopped the bleeding. A nice clutch from Saadhak followed and LOUD tied it. Things remained close for the rest of the first half. The sides switched with an even scoreline.

LOUD made it out with the second half pistol round to take their first lead of the game. A 3K from Less extended that lead. C9 then stole away the bonus to close the gap. Shortly after, Cloud9 tied things at eight a piece with an aggressive attack onto A Site.

A 4K from the IGL vanity put C9 back in the lead. And while they reached double digits, LOUD once again proved to be their equal by tying it up. The back and forth continued late into this one. A nasty combo by Saadhak and Less brought LOUD to map point. Naturally, a huge clutch by Less brings this one to the finish line.

Map 2: Icebox

It was a repeat of Bind, as OXY took down three for a C9 pistol round win. C9 followed it up with two solid victories, converting their bonus to go up by three. Vanity connected with a 3K to keep LOUD at zero rounds.

A chaotic round with dueling Sova Ultimates finally put LOUD on the board. It wasn't enough to create momentum, however, as OXY mowed through them for an Ace. OXY continued throwing caution to the wind, setting C9 up well for halftime, with LOUD showing some life before the switch.

Cloud9 wasted no time in trying to put this one away. The pistol round went to them for an easy double digits. A 3K by runi helped them reach 11, and things looked bleak for LOUD on Icebox. They did manage a Flawless round to get their fourth, but it was a tall task ahead of them.

A solid A Site defensive hold shut down any hopes of LOUD snowballing any rounds together. A lengthy round saw another 3K from runi and brought Cloud9 to map point. Lotus was inevitable, with an utter beatdown by C9 here.

Map 3: Lotus

The decider map saw Saadhak bring Deadlock into the fight. Would it work? Well, LOUD took the pistol for a good start. Cloud9 took the next, though. Some back and forth rounds occurred after that. Cloud9 looked to push ahead, but a massive clutch by Saadhak kept it tied.

Icebox was absolutely the outlier here. Map 1 and Map 3 put these teams to the test. This one remained incredibly close throughout the first half, without either team showing much weakness. A utility-focused Round 12 ended the half with both teams even.

A quick clutch round went to tuyz, putting LOUD up with a second half pistol round. They easily took the next, but the bonus was all Cloud9's. It was destined to be another close one. Point proven, as a 3K from OXY helped to tie it at eight.

That garnered the momentum that C9 needed. Two more rounds were theirs and they reached double digits on the final map of the series. Eleven was soon to follow as runi decimated LOUD with a 3K at the front of B Site. Series point came, then it went with a 4K clutch from moose, as C9 continued their perfect record.
