Karmine Corp vs Gentle Mates – VCT EMEA Stage 1: KC takes the French derby

It's time for the French derby for VCT EMEA 2024 Stage 1, Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates face off on the server. Two of the biggest organizations in France will face each other in a duel that promises to be frenetic in the country and for fans of both.

Both teams arrive at this clash at different times of the season. Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates is more than just a game, it's a French derby.

This is the first duel between both teams this season. Karmine Corp comes from a good moment. Despite the recent surprising defeat against FUT Esports, the French organization was one of two qualified for the VCT Masters Madrid. The team was the grand champion of the EMEA Kickoff. At the international competition in Madrid, the team was eliminated at the Swiss Stage after defeats to Sentinels and Paper Rex.

At VCT EMEA 2024 Stage 1, as already mentioned, Karmine Corp has a defeat with FUT, but previously beat GIANTX and now face Gentle Mates. Coming from Europe's Ascension, Gentle Mates have already debuted in the league with a victory against the Turkish side from BBL Esports. In the second week of the league, Gentle Mates only has a match against KC.

The first half smiled in favor of Karmine Corp. On their map of choice, KC were very effective on the defensive side finishing with a comfortable first half lead of 9-3. On this side, the team timed the retakes at spikesites very well and managed the numerical advantage. The highlight in this half was N4RRATE's Raze.

Gentle Mates started better in the second half, showing that they were ready to discuss the Split result. However, after three lost rounds, Karmine Corp took a tactical pause which was 100% effective for the team. The break resulted in 4 consecutive rounds for the team, the last ones remaining for the team to close the map.

The second map was in Icebox but the story in the first half was no different. Again on the defensive side, KC gained dominance on this side, managing to block the M8 in several ways. This first half resulted in a large 10-2 advantage for Karmine Corp.

Gentle Mates re-entered the discussion of the match by starting the second half well once again. KC was defeated in some rounds, but in the decisive moments it stood out skillfully and tactically. Again a 13-6 gave Karmine Corp a 2-0 victory.
