Esports.gg spoke with LOUD’s qck following the Grand Final series against SEN, where the Duelist predicted the upcoming bout against Gen.G.

As everyone expected, LOUD had a wonderful run through the VCT Americas Kickoff tournament. They entered the Grand Finals, a rematch against Sentinels. That saw Gabriel "qck" Lima and company almost complete a reverse sweep, until a dominant showing by SEN on Lotus.

After the match, we chatted with LOUD's new Duelist. He discusses his performance, having to replace aspas, and what he's looking forward to at Masters Madrid. Including a wild turn of events where he mentions Gen.G as a team he views as threatening, who just so happen to be LOUD's first opponent in Spain.

Note: This interview took place directly following the VCT Americas Kickoff Grand Final. Answers and questions were relayed through a translator.

"Before the season started, everyone talked about the big shoes you had to fill with aspas gone. Do you feel your performance in this tournament met your own expectations?"

qck: "I didn't have the performance I was expecting, but considering that we tried new metas, and we didn't have a preseason, I think I did a pretty good job. And I'm expecting to get better than that."

"And we’ve seen you play a variety of Duelist roles, such as both Jett and Phoenix. How important was it for you to bring your own style when fitting into this team?"

qck: "I believe that bringing new, or different, Agents into the game, has changed the composition. It changed the meta, and I believe that is what I brought into this team. Added to this team."

"The first series against Sentinels was a 2:0 for LOUD. You guys almost had the reverse sweep in this Grand Final. What did you see differently from them this time around?"

qck: "I think we just made the same mistakes that we made our last game. We were not really warmed up, we weren't able to take the initiative. So, we had to deal with their calls and everything, but we worked it out to win two maps. In the end, they were better and took the series."

"Well, just tell me your overall thoughts on the series. What went right, what went wrong, any immediate reactions?"

qck: "That's a hard question. I can't really say what happened, but I think that from our side, in the server, we were not really able to show our best game. We were not showing the initiative. So, I think that was the most important thing, that made us not get out of there with the victory today."

"Up next is Masters Madrid. LOUD is the second seed from VCT Americas. What are you looking forward to most about that event?"

qck: "We didn't have a lot of time to think about Madrid. We were focusing on today, to win this game. But I think it's going to be a good way to measure our team against the international scene. So, it's going to be very important for us, for the remainder of the season, when we come back for the VCT."

"If you know of the teams that have qualified from other regions, I’d like to know who you’re interested in facing internationally?"

qck: "I am not actually looking forward to go against any specific team, but I know that Gen.G is one that has been showing a good game. They qualified by winning against very strong teams. This is a team that I'm looking at as a threat."

"And is there anything you’re looking to fix or tighten up with your gameplay before Masters?"

qck: "I think I do have a lot of things to perfect. I'm not going to say anything specific. Every player has a lot of points that they could work on, to be better. I would have to think a lot to just answer this question, but yeah, there's a lot I want to perfect."
