Ludwig x Tarik Invitational includes Sentinels, T1, and more

The first official Valorant event of 2023 kicks off on January 14.

One of the most anticipated VCT off-season events in early 2023 is the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational. The event will feature four teams from North America in a LAN environment and is also the first official Valorant event of the year. Today, Ludwig announced the names of the four participating teams - Sentinels, T1, TSM, and The Guard.

The tournament takes place over two days starting on Jan 14, 2023. It will be the first time many fans will see these new rosters in action. After the VCT Champs Istanbul last year, the VCT off-season saw several roster changes. While it is difficult to assess which roster change would be the most successful, the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational will be the first instance for Los Angeles fans to witness their favorite teams and players in action.

All eyes will be on the Sentinels squad. Featuring one of the best players in the world in TenZ, Sentinels also added two new players in the off-season. Sacy and Pancada join Sentinels from LOUD, having helped the South American team to win VCT Champs Istanbul. The mix of the two different playstyles will be one of the highlights of the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational for fans as well as other pro teams.

Four teams in the first official Valorant event of 2023

Two teams, The Guard and TSM, were not chosen to partner with Riot Games for their VCT franchise system. They will not be traveling to Sao Paolo after this event for the VCT Kickoff event.

In some ways, there are two favorites in this tournament - Sentinels and T1. While Sentinels features a predominantly American lineup, T1 esports has a roster with multiple players from Asia. T1 esports is also franchised partner for the APAC league and is stacked with high-skill players.
