Riot Games announces Game Changers: São Paulo

The tournament will happen through November 28th and December 3rd in Brazil

Riot Games has announced that Game Changers World Championship, the inclusive VALORANT tournament, will happen in São Paulo, through November 28th and December 3rd. The news was announced on Monday, March 20, across social media.

Riot also revealed that the event will have a live crowd presence, with tickets going live soon. The tournament will be played in the CBLOL Arena, in Brazil. The venue is known for hosting the Brazilian League of Legends championship.

The developer promised to reveal more details about the tournament, soon. But, the number of spots that each region will have in the Game Changers São Paulo are already disclosed. There will be eight teams competing, divided in the following way:

  • North America - 2 spots
  • EMEA - 2 spots
  • Brazil - 1 spot
  • LATAM - 1 spot
  • SEA - 1 spot
  • JP/KR/CN - 1 spot

Each region will have a circuit to define which team will qualify for the Game Changers São Paulo. After releasing new details of this season's tournament, some regions disclosed more info about their circuits, such as the NA region.

Documentary about Game Changers 2022

Alongside the host country, Riot Games also announced and released a documentary covering the highlights of Game Changers 2022. The tournament happened in Berlin and ended with G2 Gozen lifting the trophy.

The film is entitled "Changing the Game" and is over 30 minutes long. It follows the behind-the-scenes story of all the teams that competed in Game Changers 2022. It also showed the time of the teams outside the competition and how the tournament affected their day-to-day lives.

Changing the Game also depicts the G2 Gozen and Shopify Rebellion grand finals. In that event, Michaela "mimi" Lintrup and her teammates defeated their adversaries by 2-0, winning the $180,000 prize.
