Known for his standout Breach plays, S1Mon is officially parting ways with EDG after remaining inactive since April.
Hsieh "S1Mon" Meng-hsun joined EDward Gaming in 2024 and became the first Taiwanese player to win an international title and the first one to win a VALORANT Champions title. Now, S1Mon is parting ways with EDG after internal controversies.
Who is S1Mon?
S1Mon began his VALORANT journey in 2021 at just 17 years old, rising through the ranks with several smaller teams before joining JDG and eventually signing with EDG in 2024. He helped EDG win the VCT 2024: China Stage 2, securing a direct spot at VALORANT Champions 2024. Two months later, in a thrilling 3-2 showdown, EDG triumphed over Team Heretics in South Korea. That victory secured his title as the first Taiwanese player to win an international title and the first to win a Champions title as well.
S1Mon and EDG
In April, some internal controversies within the EDG players surfaced related to S1Mon. Four players of the main roster accused him of having an "unprofessional attitude" and "[disrespecting] the coach and even other teammates." The internal issues in EDG were a hot topic for a while. After the drama popped off on social media, EDG announced S1Mon was moved to the inactive roster.
On August 6, 2025, they published a farewell video revealing that S1Mon was no longer part of the organization. EDG's roster now consists of:
- Wan "CHICHOO" Shunzhi
- Wang "nobody" Senxu
- Zheng "ZmjjKK" Yongkang
- Zhang "Smoggy" Zhao
- Lin "WoodAy1" Weihong
- Zhang "Jieni7" Juntai
- Zhang "zjc" Juncheng
