Sentinels vs Leviatán: A duel of giants

It seems like a game of clear Sentinel favoritism, but leaving Leviatán aside could be dangerous. The South American organization has two world champions at its side, Erick "aspas" Santos and Corbin "C0M" Lee. In addition, the roster includes three other high-quality players.

Although the start of the season with these big names did not live up to expectations, these games of facing a favorite like Sentinels could be a confidence boost for the team. If on the one hand we cannot underestimate the power of Leviatán, Sentinels arrives with the best team in the world.

The question remains, will Sentinels continue their comfort in the Americas after winning the Kickoff or is this game a turning point on Leviatán's part?

Impressive start from Leviatán, surprising the opponent on their map of choice. For a start of a 7-1 lead, effective innings led by aspas contributed. An unexpected clutch from johnqt put an end to Leviatán's sequence.

Leviatán was undeterred and, faced with an uninspired Sentinels team, continued to score points on the attacking side. This first half yielded a 9-3 in favor of Leviatán. The start of the second map was happier for Sentinels, starting with the victory in the pistol and subsequent rounds. Sentinels got closer to Lev in the result and this was due to two surreal rounds of Sentinels players.

Leviatán had several opportunities to close the first map in regular time, but the decision was postponed to overtime. In the multiple overtimes that followed, the individualities stood out.

In a game that seemed to have no end, Leviatán managed to close the match 19-17 and to this end, a super in-form aspas contributed with an impressive 47 kills on the map.

Map 2: Icebox

After a long map in Lotus, the teams headed to Icebox, Leviatán's choice. The beginning was marked by a balance and a division of the initial rounds.

Subsequently, the South American organization found consistency in the success of its executions at spikesite A. Sentinels adapted to the pace of the match, but Leviatán still came out on top in the first half by 7-5.

The balance continued into the second half and several rounds were defined in detail. In the end, it was Leviatán who came out on top by the smallest margin and closed the series 2-0.

With this victory, Leviatán achieves its first victory in VCT Americas Stage 1. NRG is Leviatán's next opponent. On the other hand, Sentinels will face MIBR in the next round.
