Will VCT LOCK//IN set a new viewership record for VALORANT?

The VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo viewership has crossed a million. The Grand finals between LOUD and Fnatic saw more than a million viewers tune in during Game 1.

The first VALORANT international tournament is off to a fantastic start. With home-crowd favorites LOUD in the Grand Finals against EMEA representatives Fnatic, there was one clear favorite. 

Over a million peak viewers for the VCT LOCK//IN Grand finals

The first map between LOUD and Fnatic saw the Brazilians take on the best team from EMEA on Ascent. With Fnatic coming into the Grand Finals without losing a single map. LOUD, on the other hand, came into the finals with the full backing of the Brazilian crowd.

There were over 1,443,103 peak viewers during the LOUD vs Fnatic match. With the series progressing further, this number will almost surely increase setting a new record for VALORANT viewership in 2023.

What’s the highest viewership ever in VALORANT?

VCT Champs 2022 saw 1,505,804 viewers during the OpTic vs LOUD Grand finals. LOUD eventually won that event with a 3-1 victory in the Grand finals.

With the VCT LOCK//IN Grand finals already crossing a million viewers by Game 1, it remains to be seen whether this event can set a new viewership record.

The VCT LOCK//IN event features 32 teams from all over the world. Each of the three regions - Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific sent ten franchised teams to the event. In addition, there were also two teams from China, FunPlus Phoenix, and EDward Gaming.
