Midnights’ reveal at Gamescom was followed by a slew of announcements for WoW, including new raids and dungeons in the next expansion.

Following a huge reveal trailer for World of Warcraft’s Midnight expansion, details of new raids, dungeons, and features became clear. Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showed off a ton of different games. One of the biggest for 2025 was expansion 11 of Blizzard’s stalwart massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), World of Warcraft (WoW). Although the cinematic reveal trailer was the main highlight, dungeons, raids, and various new features were revealed later.

World of Warcraft remains deep into The War Within expansion – number 10 in its lifespan. However, expansion 11 was revealed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live 2025. Midnight’s cinematic showcased Xala’tath’s attack on Silvermoon City and the Sunwell. But, of greater importance was the follow-up announcements, which revealed a very different first tier of WoW expansions. Midnight will see a total of three raids and seven brand-new dungeons in its initial tier. Plus, an additional reworking of Magister’s Terrace.

With four new zones arriving, an overhaul of Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman, and Silvermoon City, the new dungeons and raids thematically fit in with WoW Midnight. The 8 new dungeons are:

  • Magister’s Terrace (Eversong Woods)
  • Windrunner Spire (Eversong Woods)
  • Murder Row (Eversong Woods)
  • Maisara Caverns (Zul’Aman)
  • Den of Nalorakk (Zul’Aman)
  • Blinding Vale (Harandar)
  • Nexus-Point Xenas (Voidstorm)
  • Voidscar Arena (Voidstorm)

Furthermore, we will see 3 raids. Although in total, these will only feature 9 bosses, 3 different raids are a huge step up from the single one per season that has been the case for a few expansions.

  • The Voidspire – 6 bosses. Set in Xal’atath’s stronghold.
  • The Dreamrift – 1 boss. Set in an area between primordial dreams.
  • March on Quel’Danas – 2 bosses. The setting is unconfirmed, but it seems to be Silvermoon City or similar to Sunwell Plateau.

Where the story leads

Although the story for Midnight is shrouded in mystery, the one thing we do know is that Xal’atath’s involvement will be major. With a return to SIlvermoon, it is also likely that we have major participation from the Windrunner sisters.

With three raids and eight new dungeons, Midnight is lining up to be a massive spectacle for WoW. Although the game will only release sometime in the first half of 2026, players have been quick to snatch up the pre-order. With player housing also now being revealed, WoW seems to be heading in the right direction. But that remains to be seen, as we head towards the release of Midnight.
