Here’s everything to know about the new Zaralek Cavern zone in World of Warcraft Dragonflight.

The new Zaralek Cavern zone will arrive in World of Warcraft Dragonflight patch 10.1, according to Blizzard. Here are the details.

"So we designed the zone in a way to feel very grand and have lots of openings, but also places that you could kind of swoop in and run some tight corners and get low to the ground."

Steve Danuser about Dragonriding in Zaralek Cavern

Dragonflight patch 10.1 will see the arrival of the Zaralek Cavern zone. Players will get to visit the area through different entry points located in Thaldraszus, Azure Span, and the Ohn’ahran Plains. Fans of Dragonriding will also be able to travel around the Zaralek Cavern while in flight.

"We knew things like Dragonriding were such a popular feature for the outdoor spaces that people have been venturing in," World of Warcraft narrative director Steve Danuser told Esports.gg in an interview. "And we thought, well, what could we do with that in an underground space that puts a different spin on it yet gives you that same feeling of freedom?"

Danuser added how some Zaralek Cavern areas will let players swoop in and run some tight corners.

The Zaralek Cavern will feature three biomes as well. These will include the sulfur pools, a volcanic region, plus a crystalline area. Neltharion used to get rid of his failed experiments in the sulfur pools.

Niffen and Drogbar in World of Warcraft

The Zaralek Cavern will also feature Niffen, which are mole-like characters. Meanwhile, Drogbar will also be there alongside some Djaradin Elders. According to Blizzard, the Niffen and Drogbar will be part of the new Renown track.

Additionally, Danuser told Esports.gg that his team thought about the characters that champions of Azeroth would encounter in the new zone.

"When we're looking at our updates that we're planning to make to the game, we do try to put things together that feel like they complement one another," he said. "The features and the story are all accentuating the themes that we have through all of it. And so when we knew that we were going to be pursuing Neltharion's secrets in this underground space, we talked about the kinds of denizens we would run into, the kind of things that we would want to offer players."

That's all for now. Stay tuned on Esports.gg for more World of Warcraft news and updates.
