The OG Fortnite map is here thanks to Creative 2.0

The wait is over. OG Fortnite is back!

Fortnite’s new Creative 2.0 mode has opened doors previously unknown. This cutting-edge development tool allows creators to build elaborate experiences within the game. For long-time fans, Creative 2.0 created an opportunity to see the “OG” Fortnite Chapter 1 map return.

How to play the OG Fortnite map via a Creative 2.0

Atlas Creative — a design team operating in Fortnite — had the arduous task of perfecting nostalgia. Fans have long been asking for the Chapter 1 map to return in some capacity for many years. However, Epic Games has clarified that Fortnite has moved past its humble beginnings.

Enter Fortnite Creative 2.0 — a tool that gives creators all the power. Atlas Creative went to work early on the project “AtlasOGBR,” building the OG Fortnite Chapter 1 landscape that millions remember fondly. While there were some bumps along the road, the OG Fortnite map is available via Creative 2.0 code 2179-7822-3395.

Here is how you can load into the OG Fortnite map by Atlas Creative:

  1. Open Fortnite
  1. Navigate to the game mode and click on it
  1. Find the “Island Code” tab at the top of the screen
  1. Enter 2179-7822-3395 and click launch

Ensure "Public Match" is turned on for playing with others. Otherwise, you can set it to "Private Match" and explore the island. It’s also worth noting that the Atlas OG Fortnite map only allows 30 players to spawn in, rather than the usual 100.

Atlas Creative encounters issues, but the fans’ voices are heard

The team behind AtlasOGBR experienced memory limitations while building the OG Fortnite map. As a result, Atlas Creative scaled the island back altogether. According to a series of tweets, the team had to remove the jail, delete foliage and grass, and alter game mechanics. Also, the games seem inconsistent, and players often do not spawn on the Battle Bus when in a Public Match.

Despite the hiccup, Atlas has followed all feedback from Fortnite OG map fans. The team posted a poll, asking fans to vote on whether the sprint and slide mechanics should remain on the OG Fortnite map in Creative 2.0.

We’ll have to see what more comes of the Fortnite Chapter 1 map as creators innovate through Creative 2.0.
