Old G – OG’s new Dota 2 roster with old favorites

Rumors of OG’s desire to sign a new roster have been swirling for months, and now we might have seen the results as Old G is registered.

UPDATE: Later on Dec. 7 MSS was added to the roster. Details below.

UPDATE 2: N0tail officially joined the roster on the evening of Dec. 7. Details below.

UPDATE 3: Ceb rounded out the roster on Dec. 8. Details below.

There’s been rumors and speculation around OG fielding a second roster for months, and now thanks to a last-minute registration, we might have the answer with Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen and Volodymyr " No[o]ne-" Minenko joining a roster called Old G.

The signing was first spotted by keen-eyed journalist Arseny Kuzminsky on the Dota Pro Circuit Registration page on Wednesday, Dec. 7, confirming his earlier reports.

The pair of Topson and Noone will apparently join Johan "N0tail" Sundstein as the team unveils its second roster. Previously, multiple rumors about the OG second roster had surfaced with several angles.

Sources talking to Esports.gg had suggested that the organization was interested in a possible South American roster. The organization had reportedly made moves to increase its presence in Peru after a highly successful fan event. Additionally, until recently it was unknown whether this would be a second main roster, or an OG.Seed style project. At the time of writing, no other members of the new OG, Old G team are confirmed.

Topson’s return to OG?

Topson was made inactive on the OG roster in November of 2021, and spent almost the entire year away from competitive play. He returned ahead of TI11, 2022, in dramatic fashion, with him and Ana joining T1 for a miracle run in the Last Chance Qualifiers. However, the team fell short, sending Topson back into semi-retirement.

Now the two-time TI winner is potentially back with the roster where he won most of his accolades. Last month, the Finn moved back to Europe, after moving to Malaysia at the start of 2022. He looks primed to continue right where he left off in competitive Dota 2.

MSS to Old G

Later on Dec. 7, Arif "MSS" Anwar was also added to the new Old G roster. This marks MSS's first venture into what we assume is a WEU team.

Ceb rounds out the roster of Old G

On Dec. 8, the full roster of Old G was finally unveiled as Sébastien "Ceb" Debs. This was a move many could predict after the initial reveal, but the new roster is still creating a lot of hype.
