The Starwatch event is here! This in-game event features Overwatch 2 Season 4 Battle Pass XP, voice lines, sprays, and more goodies. Read on for the Overwatch 2 Starwatch event challenges, rewards, and how to get a free Asteroid Wrecking Ball skin!
Overwatch 2 Starwatch event
Between May 9 through May 22, players can duel others in the Overwatch 2 Starwatch event. To access this four-versus-four game mode, press the "Play" option in the main menu. Next, press "Arcade," select "Starwatch Galactic Rescue," and choose one of the three modes. These include the Watchers, Infinite, and Mercenary modes.
While the Watchers mode involves capturing four points, Infinite involves defending those points. The Watchers team gets Bonebreaker Doomfist to help with their attack, while the Infinite team gets turrets to aid in their defense. The Mercenary mode queues you up in either the Watchers or Infinite mode.
Whether you're capturing or defending points, you can revive teammates by moving closer to them and holding "F" on your keyboard. Defeated teammates can move to a safer location to get resurrected as well.
Siding with the Watchers means you can select from six heroes, including Winston, Wrecking Ball, Ashe, Torbjorn, Lucio, and Baptiste. If you choose the Infinite side, then you can select from Sigma, D.Va, Soldier: 76, Bastion, Sojourn, Brigitte, and Mercy.
Overwatch 2 Starwatch challenges
There are nine Starwatch challenges in this Overwatch 2 event, and completing them grants in-game rewards. Loot includes a couple of sprays, a souvenir, a weapon charm, two voice lines, and the epic Asteroid Wrecking Ball skin. Below is the list of Starwatch event challenges, requirements, and rewards.
How to get the free Asteroid Wrecking Ball skin
To get the Asteroid Wrecking Ball skin, complete a total of five Starwatch event challenges. Gain progress by completing games, doubling your progress by winning, and playing around with the mechanics. These special mechanics include staying afloat in zero gravity, destroying gravity canisters, and resurrecting teammates.
After finishing the challenge, you can visit the main menu, select "Heroes," choose Wrecking Ball, and equip his new Starwatch skin.
