December 2024 Community Day: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks

This December 2024 Pokémon GO Community Day is a fantastic weekend of action. This is a great chance to get your hands on loads of different Pokémon, including shinies. Any Pokémon you've caught away from a Community Day that have a featured move can now also be evolved.

There has been a lot of great Pokémon across both the 2023 and 2024, so there is a lot of amazing Pokémon to hunt. If you missed a Community Day, you can focus that Pokémon specifically.

There are some great bonuses too. We have boosted XP, Stardust and reduced Hatch Distance all at once as well as candy bonuses too. Clear your schedules across the weekend.

In terms of what Mega Pokémon to use, you should tailor that to whichever Pokémon you need candy and candy XL for the most each day.

Don't forget some other easy tips:

  • Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into featured 'mons.
  • Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
  • Don't activate Lures or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
  • Have fun!
