Every trinket in Stardew Valley: Explained

Improve your Mine exploration with these trinkets!

Stardew Valley’s huge 1.6 update has brought some incredible new items to the game. These new rare drops are called trinkets and they provide some powerful perks. Trinkets are equippable items and each give a unique buff that can massively improve your gameplay, especially in combat.

It is important to note that enemies will only drop trinkets when you have Combat Mastery. Once you’ve gotten that, you’re be able to obtain them through killing enemies, exploring the Skull Caverns, and attending festivals. Here’s every trinket in Stardew Valley 1.6!

Every Stardew Valley trinket

Fairy Box

This trinket is a little pink chest that, when equipped, spawns a little fairy! The fairy looks more Tinkerbell as opposed to Navi in Legend of Zelda, as she wears a little dress and has her hair up in a bun.

The fairy follows you around and heals you while you’re in combat, so anyone that hates combat may have a less stressful time with this trinket equipped!

You can find this trinket either through monster drops or in a Skull Cavern Treasure Room.

Frog Egg

Frog Egg, a simple green egg, spawns a green frog companion with a big appetite. A hoppy friend who will grab nearby enemies with his tongue and eat them whole. He’ll have a full tummy for a small period of time, but once he’s hungry again, he’ll snatch up the next enemy.

The Frog is incredibly useful for crowd control when in combat and is one of the more entertaining trinkets from seeing the satisfied expression on his face after gobbling up a monster.

Kills made by the frog don’t drop any items and those kills don’t count towards any quests or goals. The Frog Egg can only be found through monster drops and can be reforged using an Anvil.

In fact, reforging may change the color of your frog which is purely cosmetic, but still fun. Your frog can be the default green, blue, red, brown, blue-green, yellow, prismatic, and void. And who doesn’t want a void frog?

Parrot Egg

Another summoning trinket, the Parrot Egg is a blue egg with a colorful speckled pattern. This trinket gives you a significant financial boost instead of a combat perk, as the Parrot helps you find gold coins from fallen enemies.

Using an Anvil on the Parrot Egg will increase the parrot’s level, helping you find even more money! This may be the best trinket to use if you’re short on money, but unfortunately it is another one that can only be found from killing monsters.

Golden Spur

The Golden Spur is, well, a golden spur. This trinket provides one of the more disappointing perks in Stardew Valley, as it gives you a short speed boost after you hit a critical strike on an enemy. The speed boost can last between five to ten seconds.

This buff is slightly underwhelming, and can only be found through monster drops. You are able to reforge this trinket using an Anvil, but that won’t improve the spur.

Basilisk Paw

The Basilisk Paw is a little green hand with painted nails which can only be found by killing monsters.

This trinket has the simplest buff, as it makes you immune to monster debuffs. Any debuffs that you bring upon yourself, like eating questionable food, will still affect you.

However, this does mean that you can explore the Mines without worrying about slimes slowing you down! Unfortunately, this is one of the few trinkets that cannot be reforged using an Anvil.

Ice Rod

This blue tipped staff provides another ability that helps you fight monsters. The Ice Rod fires off every couple of seconds, freezing the enemies that it hits for a short period. This is another great trinket for exploring the Mines or Skull Caverns.

Interestingly, the Ice Rod can be reforged with an Anvil, like the other trinkets, but after being reforged it will be renamed to Perfect Ice Rod. This upgraded version of the Ice Rod will fire every three seconds and freeze enemies for four seconds.

Like most of the other trinkets, the Ice Rod can only be found by slaying monsters.

Magic Quiver

The Magic Quiver is a blue quiver with pinkish purple arrows sticking out of the top. This may be the most useful trinket of the lot, as the Magic Quiver shoots out a bolt every few seconds to knock back and damage nearby enemies.

Reforging the Magic Quiver can change it to different improved states, Perfect, Rapid, or Heavy. The Perfect Magic Quiver shoots a bolt every .9 seconds and deals around 30 to 35 damage. The Rapid Magic Quiver will shoot every .6 seconds but has lower damage between 8 to 17. The Heavy Magic Quiver deals the most damage – around 35 to 40 – but only fires a bolt every 1.5 to 2 seconds.

The Magic Quiver, like the majority of Stardew Valley's trinkets, can only be found by killing enemies.

Magic Hair Gel

Magic Hair Gel is the only trinket that is purely cosmetic. The icon looks like a little jar full of color, which makes perfect since as this item makes your hair strobe through the color wheel. In fact, the Magic Hair Gel matches perfectly with the Prismatic clothing so you can fully commit to the RGB gamer lifestyle in-game.

This special trinket can only be obtained during the Desert Festival from Alex and cannot be reforged using an Anvil.

Reforging trinkets in Stardew Valley

Most trinkets can be reforged on an Anvil, which can give some trinkets – like the Magic Quiver and the Fairy Box – random stats. Reforging a trinket costs three Iridium Bars, which is fairly costly. However, it may be worth it if you really want to improve your trinket or if you really, really want a void frog.

Unfortunately, trinkets do not stack, so you have to choose one at a time. You can find the same trinket multiple times, and each is worth one thousand gold when sold. However, so far, it seems that these are rarer drops so you probably won’t want to sell.
