Drain your opponent’s deck with the new promo card, Ultra Necrozma ex, in Pokémon TCG Pocket!
With the Ultra Beast Event coming to a close, many players are looking for ways to build a competitive Ultra Necrozma ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket. If you’re still looking for two copies of promo Ultra Necrozma ex cards, keep spending those Event Stamina and Event Hourglasses you have to acquire as many Promo Packs as possible.
A few days before the release of the Extradimensional Crisis themed pack in the game, Ultra Necrozma ex is already one of the most controversial cards that players are looking forward to.
Ultra Necrozma ex’s main move, Shoegaze, deals 120 damage and also forces both players to discard the top five cards of their decks. Considering that Pokémon TCG Pocket decks are limited to just 20 cards, discarding five cards can have a significant impact on each player’s overall strategy and tempo.
The following deck list can be a viable build that anyone can try on both Solo and Versus modes. Of course, we’ll share a completely different idea from the default build of the decks from the Ultra Beast Event.
Ultra Necrozma ex deck build: Necro-Silva variant
For this build, you’ll get the alternate option of approaching the game with Silvally. Ultra Necrozma ex will remain the late-game offensive piece, but it’s important to develop your Silvally first.

How to play the Ultra Necrozma ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Start the game with Type: Null as your starting Active Pokémon. Keep your Ultra Necrozma ex on your Bench, and develop your Type: Null until it becomes a Silvally.
Despite its promising mechanic, Ultra Necrozma ex is a bit of a lackluster card to use in the current meta due to its Shoegaze requiring two types of Energy: Psychic and Metal.
You strictly need two Psychic and two Metal Energy to use Shoegaze, so if your Energy Zone keeps generating the same type of Energy, you won’t be able to use it. Therefore, you need to rely on Type: Null to do the heavy lifting in the early game.
Your Celesteela can serve as a damage sponge for your Ultra Necrozma ex. You can also use it to further delay your opponent using its ability, Ultra Thrusters.
Fortunately, like other decks that use Silvally, you’ll always have the upper hand if you manage to play it without any delay, as it can likely attack right away the moment you evolve it, thanks to its move that can deal as much as 100 damage for just a couple of any type of Energy.
Once your Ultra Necrozma ex gets all the Energy it needs for Shoegaze, trigger Celesteela’s ability to switch it to the Active Spot and let it destroy both of your opponent’s Active Pokémon and deck.

Other notable cards in the Ultra Necrozma deck

The rest of this deck are mostly assorted Supporter cards to ensure that Silvally can always deal 100 damage with Brave Buddies. The most crucial Supporters that you should have in any phase of the game are the copies of Lusamine and Gladion.
For some mirror matches, Guzma and Cyrus can help a lot in minimizing the potential of your opponent’s Celesteela and other Ultra Necrozma ex decks that use Pokémon Tool cards.
Strengths
This Ultra Necrozma ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket might lack a bit in damage, but it certainly makes up for its speed due to the addition of Silvally. As long as your Silvally are Active, they can do most of the job while you keep collecting the right Energy for your Ultra Necrozma ex.
Players that use Oricorio will also have a hard time against this build, since Silvally can one-shot them before they can even face your main Pokémon ex.
Weaknesses
If you don’t have any Basic Pokémon other than two Celesteela at the start of the game, you might find yourself in trouble. All this Pokémon does is stall the game and set up your Ultra Necrozma ex — which might not even be available for play yet.
In case your deck bricks with just two Celesteela, hope that your Professor’s Research and Poké Ball will help you retrieve the main pieces so you can get back to the game.
Also, keep an eye out for decks that utilize switching, like Sabrina and Cyrus. Those two cards are the bane of many decks that take advantage of Celesteela’s ability.
