Zacian is back in Pokémon GO Raids, here’s how to take it down.

Zacian is back in Pokémon GO Raids. Both Zacian and Zamazenta are the main stars of this summers Pokémon GO Fest events, with their special crowned forms being added to the game. In either form Zacian is a really powerful Pokémon to have. It scores incredibly well as a Fairy-type attacker and is also incredibly relevant in the Master League.

Zacian will be in Raids across all three in-person GO Fest events. Then, the crowned Sword version will be in Raids on the second day of GO Fest Global.

So, here's what you need to take on Zacian in Pokémon GO:

Best Zacian counters in Pokémon GO:

Zacian has a weakness to just two types of attacks, Poison and Steel-types. Zacian has resistances to Bug, Dark and Fighting-type attacks as well as a double resistance to Dragon-types.

Here are the best Zacian counters in Pokémon GO:

Dusk Mane Necrozma
Metal Claw & Sunsteel Strike
Mega Gengar
Shadow Claw & Sludge Bomb
Dawn Wings Necrozma
Metal Claw & Moongeist Beam
Mega Rayquaza
Air Slash & Dragon Ascent
Dialga
Metal Claw & Iron Head
Origin Forme Dialga
Metal Claw & Iron Head
Primal Groudon
Mud Shot & Precipice Blades
Excadrill
Metal Claw & Iron Head
Metagross
Bullet Punch & Meteor Mash
Primal Kyogre
Waterfall & Origin Pulse
Melmetal
Thunder Shock & Double Iron Bash
White Kyurem
Steel Wing & Ice Burn

There are several strong Pokémon that you can use to take on Zacian in Pokémon GO. If you played Pokémon GO Fest 2024, you will be well set for this Raid. Both Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma are fantastic Zacian counters. Even better is these Pokémon are incredibly strong, but aren't Mega Pokémon. That means you can team them up with a powerful Mega Pokémon like Mega Gengar.

For budget options, Metagross is a good choice. Last summers Beldum Community Day means all Trainers should have a couple of Metagross with the powerful Meteor Mash move. Then, Excadrill is also another good option. Drilbur has been everywhere this season, especially in Dynamax Max Battles. Any good Excadrill you worked on for Max Battles will be great for these Raids.

Origin forme Dialga, which was in Raids during Into the Wild and the Pokémon GO Wild Area is also an excellent counter.
