World Champions NYSL face reimagined OpTic Texas roster
The CDL is back in action, and we have quite the banger on deck to cap off the start of the 2024 season. Six months on from their triumph at the 2023 Call of Duty Championship, the New York Subliners kick off their title defense against OpTic Texas. NYSL have made a change to their roster despite their win at the Championship — adding Seattle Surge's Sibilants in place of Priestahh, who now plays for Boston Breach. Although it will be interesting to see how well Sibilants fits into this team. All eyes will also be fixated on Hydra.
The 2023 CDL MVP has had a pretty action-packed week ahead of the start of the 2024 season. He won the award for Console Player of the Year at the 2023 Esports Awards in Las Vegas. Many fans will be looking forward to seeing whether or not the Frenchman will be able to replicate his performances from last season. And there is no greater proving ground than going up against OpTic Texas in your opening match.
Following their disappointing end to the 2023 season, OpTic Texas have made some very big changes to their lineup for the 2024 season. With Pred and Kenny joining from the Seattle Surge and LA Thieves respectively, in place of Huke and Ghosty. Though Shotzzy and Huke made for a good SMG duo for much of last season, now that he has a player like Pred alongside him, there is no end to the damage they could do in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). And with Kenny coming in to help look things down alongside Dashy, this OpTic team has the potential to be a serious force to be reckoned with this season. But they certainly have their work cut out for them today.
