This match also featured NRG Shock's first fight under a new name since team Students of the Game debuted on stage as NRG Shock! The players went on stage in graduation robes before revealing into their new NRG Shock jerseys.

Even prior to this reveal, NRG CEO Andy Miller hinted at it. "Hell yah! Give us a week or so to cook!" he wrote on X on May 21. Earlier in May, the official NRG social media account asked fans what should be in store for the next chapter of the organization. Overwatch 2 won by a landslide.
