The Rule One organization didn't miss the opportunity to make fun of the situation.

On the other hand, Jérôme Coupez, an agent for esports players, offered another point of view. “However, in most countries, they wouldn't be legally able to sign a contract with a team or receive [cash prizes,] etc. Hopefully, it doesn't open the door to predatory/reckless behavior from teams," he wrote on X.

Luminosity Gaming's Carlos "CHEESE." Aguado commented on the news as well. He tagged Scrzbbles, who is a known name in the North American scene. At 14 years old, he can compete in the next season.

RLCS 2024 details

The Rocket League Esports account on X did not provide details about the 2024 edition of the RLCS roadmap. The account only stated that the open registrations will be early next year and that the RLCS will start at the end of January.

The next season will be something new as it will start in January. This deviates from the trend of the last editions that began in either September or October before ending in the middle of the year. Therefore, the season is expected to last throughout the year and finally end in the final months of 2024.

Teams in this league transition may have more time to make the usual player changes. The RLCS also has off-season partnership tournaments to fill the empty calendar through January.
