Boxbox Bootcamp returns for the release of Set 9!

Teamfight Tactics and variety streamer Boxbox has once again partnered with Riot Games for a survivor style competition with $25,000 prize pool at the start of the new set.

Today marks the release of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 9. Alongside the start of the new set is the return of the Boxbox Bootcamp. With double the participants and an increased prize pool from its previous iteration, the challenge is the biggest it's ever been!

Boxbox Bootcamp competition

Boxbox has selected 100 streamers to compete in his Set 9 Boxbox Bootcamp. These streamers have been evenly split into two groups: Pro League and Casual League. Pro League consists of streamers known for their skill in TFT, and the Casual League consists of streamers who play TFT for fun.

The Set 9 Boxbox Bootcamp is an expanded version of the last bootcamp, in which the streamers are fighting for survival. Competitors play the ranked North American ladder over the course of two weeks as well. Boxbox Bootcamp eliminates the lowest-ranked competitors at the end of each day, and only one winner gets to stand in both groups.

Competitors are required to stream at least half of their games and be rewarded in gifted subscriptions. You can find more details on the rules here.

Boxbox Bootcamp participants

Streamers from all over the world are participating in the expanded survivor-style competition. Last edition's Pro League featured streamers and established professionals from North America (NA), Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Korea (KR), and Southeast Asia (SEA). With the expansion to 50 Pro League participants, Set 9's Boxbox Bootcamp includes regions such as Brazil (BR) and Japan (JP) as well. They are once again battling it out on the NA server to see who can end the highest rank after two weeks.

The Casual League consists mostly of non-TFT streamers who don't play the game at a serious level. The league grants an opportunity for them to compete in TFT. It also brings visibility and publicity to TFT in large communities that don't primarily play the game.

Set 8.5's Pro League winner, Robinsongz, and Casual League winner, Yougelly, are making their return to defend their titles. Will they be able to do so successfully? Let's check out their competition this time around.
