Riot Games have revealed the format for the forthcoming VALORANT Game Changers 2024 season, including how to sign up for Contenders.
Riot Games have unveiled a brand new league format for the VALORANT Game Changers EMEA 2024 season. The announcement was made earlier today on the VALORANT Esports website.
Breaking down the VALORANT Game Changers EMEA 2024 Format
2023 was an exciting year for Game Changers, topped off by Shopify Rebellion's victory at the Game Changers Championship in Sao Paulo. Now, less than two weeks following the tournament's end, Riot Games have decided to provide us with a look into how things are going to shape up for Game Changers EMEA in the 2024 season; and just in time for Christmas. Here is how all of this going to work for the 2024 season.
The 2024 Game Changers EMEA season will see the competition split into three stages, preceeded by a Kickoff event which will run from January to February. The Top 8 teams from the Kickoff event will then advance to compete in Game Changers EMEA Stage 1. With G2 Gozen and BBL Queens filling the remaining two spots following their participation in Champions last season.
At the end of Stage 1, the two teams that finish at the bottom will be relegated to EMEA Contenders. There they will compete alongside 30 other hopeful teams for a chance to claim one of the two vacant spots for Game Changers Stage 2. With the process repeating itself for qualification to Stage 3. Below you will find a list regarding all of the important dates to keep in mind for Game Changers as well as for Contenders.
Key Dates:
- January 26 - 28: Open Qualifiers for Game Changers Kickoff begin, with the Top 4 advancing to the Closed Qualifiers.
- February 3 - 4: Closed Qualifiers stage begins, with the Top 8 advancing to Game Changers EMEA Stage 1.
- February 16 - March 11: Game Changers EMEA Stage 1 begins.
- February 16 - 27: Group Stage.
- March 4 - 11: Playoffs stage
- March 30 - April 7: EMEA Contenders Stage 1 begins.
- July 6 - 14: EMEA Contenders Stage 2 begins
Riot Games have yet to release the dates for Game Changers EMEA Stage 2, Stage 3 and the 2024 Game Changers Championship. We will try to update you whenever that information becomes available.
