Deathwing enters WoW Cataclysm Classic

Deathwing is returning to Azeroth through WoW Cataclysm Classic. His entrance promises destruction that will change Azeroth's landscapes forever. In addition to Deathwing, Cataclysm Classic features a new dungeon difficulty system, improved leveling experience, new races, and so much more.

Cataclysm Classic release date

WoW Cataclysm Classic is arriving on May 20, 2024. A pre-expansion update is slated to go live on April 30 as well. According to Blizzard, players can expect the completion of their regional maintenance alongside features such as new world changes, the arrival of Worgen and Goblin races, the Archeology profession, streamlined leveling in classic zones, an expanded collections user interface (UI), plus updated talent trees.

Cataclysm Classic pre-expansion patch features

  1. Changes to Azeroth’s landscapes due to Deathwing's return
  2. Ability to play as Worgens and Goblins
  3. Archeology as a new profession
  4. Adjusted leveling speeds to let players enter new Cataclysm Classic faster
  5. Expanded collections UI for the transmogrification system

Cataclysm Classic update

  1. 7 new zones, including Mount Hyjal, Vash’jir, Twilight Highlands, Uldum, Deepholm, Kezan, and Gilneas
  2. 9 new dungeons, including Blackrock Caverns, Throne of the Tides, Vortex Pinnacle, The Stonecore, The Lost City of Tol’vir, The Halls of Origination, Grim Batol, Deadmines, and Shadowfang Keep
  3. 3 new raid dungeons, including Throne of the Four Winds, Blackwing Descent, and Bastion of Twilight
  4. Flying in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor
  5. Darkmoon Island
  6. Tol Barad PvP zone
  7. Dungeon journal
  8. Boss Based Raid Lock system

The list above indicates the details of what else to expect in WoW Cataclysm Classic. For example, in addition to the new zones and dungeons, this expansion also features the Boss Based Raid Lock system, which lets players “do either the 10 or 25-player raid version of each boss in the same week."
