Every new game mode in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Season 5

With new toon-style graphics, Season 5 of Modern Warfare 3 is already looking to be a historic new season for the franchise.

With the new season, Call of Duty dropped three new game modes.

Every new game mode in Modern Warfare 3, Season 5:

  • Slam Deathmatch
  • Arcade Playlists
  • COD Warrior

So, what does each of these new game modes have to offer?

Slam Deathmatch (in-season)

Weapons matter less than usual in the new game mode, Slam Deathmatch. Set to release on July 31, players will be able to wrestle their favorite enemies to an elimination.

What this means is weapons are only good for downing players in this new game mode. If you want to get points, you have to go through with your kill by using finishing moves.

All finishing moves will be randomized and inspired by WWE. Yes, you will literally be wrestling your opponents to death.

Arcade Playlists (in-season)

Call of Duty is no stranger to the Arcade game mode. Set to release in Modern Warfare 3 on later in the season, the Arcade Playlists game mode will feature new weapons and unique abilities that players can utilize.

Think of it as an actual arcade game. No, you will not be using your typical guns but instead a list of weapons below:

  • Sledgehammer Melee: Increased knockback ability
  • Minigun: Battle Rage ability
  • MORS Sniper Rifle: Explosive knockback effect
  • TYR Pistol: Akimbo Snakeshot Dragon’s Breath
  • Push Dagger Melee: Big lunge ability

Players will also be able to Ground Slam opponents, which damages opponents within close quarters after a high jump, and use a Forcefield ability that protects the player from outside attacks.

COD Warrior (launch)

Released with the launch of Season 5, COD Warrior is a much more fast-paced game mode, that puts players into groups of twos and has them compete across multiple mini-games.

Every round consists of a different mini-game and awards teams one point for coming out in first place.

Mini-games will range from 30 to 90 seconds and will be weapon-based. Be aware, though, as you will only have one life in each mini-game. There will be no respawns.
