The BAS-P is nothing special in its base form, but with its best loadout in MW2, you can shred the opposition apart from close range.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has a massive and growing roster of submachine guns. You'll have to use all of them eventually if you want to fully unlock everything the first-person shooter has to offer. This means that at some point, you'll need to utilize the BAS-P in MW2, and thankfully its best loadout can make it feel a bit less torturous.
There are many better weapons in the SMG category. The BAS-P isn't very effective from longer distances like some others, so you'll need to get up close and personal for it to do what it does best. That's where a certain set of attachments come into play. It makes it a close range demon in those run-and-gun objective modes.
How to unlock the BAS-P
If you want to put the BAS-P to use in MW2, you've got to unlock it first. You'll notice it is the only weapon in its Weapon Platform. In Season 1, it was part of the Battle Pass, so if you missed your chance, you'll have to do one of the other methods. They're a bit easier than grinding the BP, however.
The first method is to simply get 25 headshots with an SMG. Use your favorite and connect with those heads. After 25, you'll find the BAS-P unlocked in your arsenal. Aside from that, you can pick one up and extract with it in the DMZ mode and it will carry over to MW2 and Warzone 2.0 for you to use.

Put the following attachments on the BAS-P for its best loadout in MW2:
- Muzzle: AVR-T90 Comp
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
- Stock: Bruen Flash V4 Stock
- Rear Grip: D37 Grip
You won't be beaming enemies from across the map with this SMG. Instead, you need to rush and overwhelm the opposition with it. Modes like Hardpoint and Headquarters, where you'll hold objectives in mostly tight locations, will give you the best chance at scoring kills.
Because of the need to be up close, you can do without an optic attachment. Add the listed muzzle, laser, magazine, stock, and rear grip. This will provide a very small reduction to mobility, but accuracy, recoil control, and handling receive solid boosts for you to run in, take out an enemy, and leave just as quickly.
