The return of the Saug in Black Ops 6.

The Saug is one of two new weapons that arrived with the Season 1 update in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Right out of the gate, this Black Ops 4 submachine gun has real potential as a meta weapon in multiplayer. It's fast, has terrific recoil, and can kill enemies easily at close and mid-ranges.

However, if you're truly looking to get the most out of the Saug in Black Ops 6, you need a certain set of attachments. Below, we'll show you everything you need to know about the Saug and its best loadout for multiplayer.

How to unlock the Saug in Black Ops 6

The Saug is unlocked through the Season 1 Battle Pass, as is the same with the Krig C. On the Battle Pass, you have to reach and complete page 3, which takes 21 total tiers. You can progress through tiers by earning or purchasing Battle Pass Tokens, which are acquired through simply playing. The Saug is a free tier on the pass, meaning no purchase is required to unlock it.

If you want to pay for the Saug, though, you can buy the Mastercraft: Draconic Forge bundle in the store for 3,000 COD Points. This gives you access to a Saug blueprint and permanently unlocks the SMG for you in Black Ops 6.

Attachments for the best Saug loadout in Black Ops 6

With the Saug unlocked, you can move on to the next phase of using it, which is leveling it up and equipping attachments. The Saug is a strong SMG by default, but five specific attachments makes it even deadlier in multiplayer.

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

This loadout is standard for most SMGs in Black Ops 6, but it works extremely well for the Saug. We start out with the Compensator to reduce vertical recoil while the Ranger Foregrip gets rid of horizontal recoil and adds some movement speed. The Reinforced Barrel improves damage range and bullet velocity, which are crucial for taking on longer range gunfights.

The Recoil Springs reduces both vertical and horizontal recoil so your Saug shoots lasers without you having to control it much. Finally, the Ergonomic Grip adds mobility in the form of slide to fire, dive to fire, and aim down sight speeds.

Best secondary for the Saug

Once your attachments have been selected, it's time to pick a secondary weapon for the Saug. Your sidearm isn't too important with an SMG, but there are better pistols than others.

The strongest pistol overall is the Stryder .22, which is unlocked at level 40. However, the 9mm PM behaves essentially the same and is unlocked by default, so that's another choice.

Best tactical and lethal equipment for the Saug

Following the secondary selection, you can equip both a piece of tactical and lethal equipment on the loadout.

  • Tactical: Stim Shot
  • Lethal: Semtex/Impact Grenade

You're free to use whatever suits your fancies in either slot, but these pieces of equipment are useful for any game mode and situation in Black Ops 6.

Best perks and wildcard for the Saug

Last, but not least, we have the perks and wildcard for the Saug loadout. Once again, personal preference can come into play here, but we have a general selection for you below:

  • Perk 1: Ninja
  • Perk 2: Fast Hands
  • Perk 3: Double Time
  • Perk 4: Ghost
  • Wildcard: Perk Greed

And that wraps up the entire Saug loadout in Black Ops 6 multiplayer. It's an incredibly strong SMG that is well-worth using in Season 1. The same can be said for the Krig C, which we also designed a loadout for in Black Ops 6.
