The Nuke streak is back in Black Ops 7, but how can you call it in?

The most iconic scorestreak in Call of Duty history is the Nuke. Blowing up an entire map and ending the game outright is easily one of the biggest flexes you can pull off in a multiplayer match. For the first time in Black Ops 6, we got to see the Nuke in a Treyarch game, and it was glorious. However, many players expressed concerns that the Nuke wouldn't be in Black Ops 7 due to Activision leaving it out of the official launch scorestreaks list.

Fortunately for all fans of the Nuke, though, we got to see it called in by players at the Call of Duty Next event. This confirms the Nuke is back in Black Ops 7, and you can even earn one during the multiplayer beta. Of course, just knowing the Nuke is available is only half the battle. You also need to know what to do to call in the Nuke streak.

How to earn the Nuke in Black Ops 7

First off, if you want to see the Nuke in action in Black Ops 7, check out this clip from content creator LunchTime, who managed to get the streak at COD Next:

As you can see from the gameplay, the Nuke streak looks exactly the same as it does in Black Ops 6. It's the same animations and the same cutscene that plays after the streak is called in. So, this means that the Nuke remains a game-ending streak in Black Ops 7. The team that had the player call in the Nuke wins the game regardless of the current score. However, while it's the same animations, does that also mean the Nuke is earned the same way in Black Ops 7 as it is in Black Ops 6?

The official answer is yes, the Nuke is earned by going on a 30 killstreak in Black Ops 7. This was confirmed by LunchTime after he managed to get the streak at COD Next.

Just like in Black Ops 6, the Nuke is a hidden streak that acts as a fourth scorestreak. It can be earned by any player at any time as long as they go on a 30 killstreak during a match.

The 30 kills required for the Nuke need to come from a weapon, piece of equipment, or, in rare cases, a Field Upgrade. This means you can't get kills with other scorestreaks and have them count towards the 30 kills you need for the Nuke. You can track the number of your kills you currently have by paying attention to the Medals that appear at the top of your screen in Black Ops 7.

Certain Medals, like Bloodthirsty, Ruthless, Brutal, etc., indicate what killstreak you're currently on. After you see the Brutal Medal, which is earned at a 25 killstreak, you know you're just five kills away from the Nuke. Black Ops 7 might also feature a real-time kill counter on the HUD at launch, but that feature likely won't be in the beta.

So there you have it, to earn a Nuke in Black Ops 7, all you have to do is get 30 weapon/equipment kills in a row without dying. It's a herculean task, but after you get the Nuke, you'll forever have bragging rights throughout the life cycle of the game.
